IMO Sloman is Bona's boy. They probably drafted him due to Bona's scouting and working with him pre-draft. He probably won "the competition" because of Bona sticking to his guns (or if you're so inclined feel free to believe the rumors that on all the workouts without press it just so happend that this guy killed it).

Our teams are among the worst in the league. We are 30th in special teams DVoA (we were 17th last season). Bonamego was a poor hire IMO.

My concern is his low line drive kicks were an obvious concern week 1. He still hasn’t shown any sign of fixing it. His two makes after the missed PAT were also low line drives.

Personally I want another kicker at the Rams facilities today to compete against Sloman and the Rams should crank up the pressure. Have kicking duel, 10 XPs, 10 KOs, 10 FGs between 35-55 YDs. Whoever makes the most, wins.

Tell the kid this is his last shot, his NFL dreams are on the line - if he doesn't win that competition, cut him.

I know they won't do it that way....but I wish they would.

Meh, I’m cooling fast. Extra points can’t be missed often. A couple a season maybe so he’s hit his limit with me for the season. Each additional one will sour me more each time.

Has anyone looked at the film to verify that the kick came out low on Sunday? It certainly looked like it on the game cam. Tough to unfuck a trajectory problem with our possibly fucking up everything else he may offer. How did we get here???

If you're suggesting that the last weeks preseason ( practice) results turned things for Sloman particularily after all 3 kickers were admittedly about equal.....nope, I doubt it. But McVay obviously felt the need to justify his decision. He could have said, "they're all about equal, but since we drafted Sloman and because he'll cost us the least, we selected him."

Got it McVay is a liar and an idiot while holding fans in contempt. It’s clear you know what happened in camp better than him.
