What if the sun comes up in the west? I'd be shocked and amazed if those were his numbers. But if they are that means Van Jefferson wasn't able to get on the field making him a bad draft choice likely. It also means DJax isn't on the field making him a bad free agent signing. One out of three is good right?
Or it means we're scoring a LOT of TDs!! That is my hope...

Those are Tavon Austin's 2015 numbers with Fisher & Rob Boras running things with Gurley getting 1,300 ap yds and Britt & Cook consuming targets in a 29th ranked offense.

there's no way he put up those numbers in the shit show offense boreus made the world suffer through for a season.

as you said that was from his 3rd season. what a weapon he was. and boreus was the te coach that season.

somebody brought up the peter principle a couple of days ago and boreus was the epitome of that. no oc in his right mind wanted to work with fisher so he gave the job to boreus.

Or we put up big offensive numbers and open up the offense like we weren't going to do with the Goff/McVay relationship.

Not saying you're wrong or right. But it is entirely possible and I think we'll all be stoked if it comes to fruition.

I mean come on man that is insane rookie production for someone who will be our 5th WR. Overly optimistic IMO that isn't gonna happen. I think he will still make an impact in all phases as you pointed out, but production like that wont come until DJax is off the roster next year.

People need to remember we really had no holes to fill this off-season so we drafted for BPA or luxury. His speed will absolutely open things up when he's on the field. No doubt about that. Stafford loves to go deep, I mean he loves it.
I think the key with Tutu is how quickly he learns the offense. Another key is can he contribute on teams. Being a punt returner fits his skill set. He tracks it well and has good hands. Why he didn't do it in college no idea, and only thing I'd be worried about is him getting hurt, but he's a bottom of the chart WR so it fits. Way better to risk him than Kupp.

If he's smart he'll work his butt off to be a great returner as a rook too. Because that gets him on the gameday roster. From there McVay will try to get him involved provided he knows the plays.

This season would be impressive...but he's barely ever returned punts. I just don't see him getting snaps there. And receiving yards are iffy as well: we have too many mouths to feed (Woods, Kupp, Higbee, Jefferson, Jackson, maybe even Hopkins) before counting on Atwell. I could see him getting occasional snaps if Jackson fails to stay healthy, but I'd rather trust the vet who is arguably one of the best deep ball catchers in the game right now. Rushing, I could see; he definitely has breakaway speed, although I doubt his touchdown numbers in any case will be high.

First and foremost, Chatavius needs to gain good weight without losing his speed. I see this as a redshirt year, a trade of Woods/Kupp next year, and seeing Woods/Kupp, Jefferson, and Atwell be the primary three. Next year will be where he - hopefully - makes his mark.
I doubt that McVay will be able to resist playing Atwell as soon as he can even if it's only a small number of snaps. This is not the same as sitting Jefferson for much of last year because he was a (relative) clone of Woods and Kupp. Imo McVay really wants to stretch the field, give Stafford downfield targets, and jumpstart the offense. And sooner rather than later.

The drops are over three seasons, he only had 2 last year.
I don’t know about the fumbles.
1 this past season And 4 the prior year. And yes i know its over three seasons. that is precisely why I said at Louisville. I was merely commenting on another poster mentioning ball security,

That is 15 drops in 225 target. Take tyreek hill who atwell will be used like. He had 14 drops in 360 targets. And thats against better competition. So i dont think 15 drops is good.

I would like to see more right out of the gate type leads from this years offense. I am looking forward to it.

Mcvay runs more three wr sets than anyone in the league. I think this year that third wr is a deep threat. That mean djax starts and tutu is his backup. A 34 running a lot of deep patterns will need breather. Is so tutu will get a decent number of snaps
