One other irritation from that game was the continued subpar play of Verse. He just doesn't look like the same dude. At all. Zero pop in his rush. And he gets pushed around.

Wondering if he's playing through an injury.

Maybe or is double team rate is up and there's enough tape on him and none of the counters he worked on this season have really helped out.

If all he can do is push the pocket and people know that's coming, even with small variations on that, he may have gotten figured out for now.

The offense moved at will, so I dont understand why it should have been different? The rain had nothing to do with any of his turnovers though. First int was just dumb luck, bouncing off the helmet. 2nd was just Stafford brain farting and getting bird dogged for a pick 6. The sack? I dunno, he should have never held the ball that long and I doubt the wet ball made a difference. As for the delay of game, not sure if the Rams preferred the 5 yard penalty over the additional time out
They were running at will. I don't like it when they try passing the ball as much as they do when they get in the red zone.

People keep saying that. But I am talking about his 1 on 1 rushes vs just about every OT he's faced.

Last season he was bullying them. He had fucking pop in his rush and was pushing them into their QBs. This season it's pattycake.

There is a difference.

My point is it more than likely would not have come to that if they had stuck with what was working. Also, Puka made an INSANE catch to move the sticks and prevented another possible interception. While he made that insane catch, I dont take those for granted and imo that's a moment where we should have realized we just got bailed out and should keep it close. Not to mention it didnt make any sense to score so fast when we had over 6 minutes to play. Burn some clock bc you know our D is not going to stop the Panthers. Give the Panthers as little time as possible with their possession.
I was thinking that as I was watching. I just didn’t get the frenetic pace/play selection. It was as if the Rams were down TWO scores.

Seems to me tackles are anchoring better knowing what's coming

I think we have a ton of talent on this young D. A lot of the guys are enthusiastic, high-energy players. Now, here is my caveat: I think that our D would benefit from a true veteran leader, a natural leader, not one by default or by committee.

I think it is possibly the reason we are at times connected to proven vets who don't make 100% sense to us.

Was wondering this too. He is slow off the ball, and his leverage isn't good. I am thinking he's playing through a lower body injury that is hurting him. Didn't he get rolled up on four or five games ago?

He led the NFL with 18 QB hits through 7 games. Only 3 in the past 5 games.

They scored 4 TD in the redzone, 2 pass, 2 rush. Redzone was not the problem. Monday morning quarterbacking at its finest

CAR had a good offensive game plan. A lot of teams vs Rams give up on the run. Panthers didn’t.

When they stayed committed and didn’t go into drop back mode, Shula didn’t have the answers and his D got tired of chasing and tackling.

Silver lining in this L for me is the team should now refocus for December and the stretch run.

All right. On to the Lions. We couldn't skin the Panthers, but I'm thinking Stafford rebounds, and we make a coat of some Ankle-Biting Kittens!
