I haven’t seen much indication of Stafford liking throwing to small targets.
Hill has had some injury trouble the last two years too. I have some buddies that are die hard Dolphins fans and they are pretty tired of him tbh. For the money he is going to want, I’d say it’s definitely not worth it.

If we are trying to "go for it" next year - which makes sense to me.

We are not going to get rid of all our veteran players for rebuilding types.

Kupp is probably the most likely of the "old guard" to be elsewhere - but I wouldn't be surprised if he was still here.

There is no way they drop stafford for salary cap room - if we are doing that might as well be a full rebuild.

I am guessing we will re-sign Jackson, Hoecht, Robinson and Witherspoon - and possibly Rozeboom - and that we won't love the amounts.

And for me, I think we really close already - probably closer than we think. So to me we just need:

DL/Edge - retain or replace (re-sign Brown and Hoecht or they can be replaced by "replacement level players" or later picks)

LT - re-sign Alaric, FA or first round pick

WR - UPGRADE

CB and LB - these are going to be the most interesting; both played well at times this year, and you could argue that outside of a snow game and Barkley having the two best games of his life against us this year, our defense ended up being the stronger unit. My guess is we end up having the resources to upgrade one, but not both

Stafford had no issues getting the ball deep to Desean Jackson when he was here and he's been. Stafford wants to throw it deep and Tyreek Hill is still one of the best at tracking it plus he has the speed this offense desperately needs. He will take a crossing route to the house!

Attitude and injury-wise - he just wants to win and knows Tua's future does not look bright. The only injury I see that held him out this year is the wrist injury, something that doesn't affect his legs.

If we're talking Higgins, who will avg $30M, we can talk about Reek. He's still top 3 in the league behind Chase and Jefferson.

To me it seemed like he missed him 75+% of the times he targeted him. I only remember DJax making 2 long catches for us.

Stafford is not good on the deep ball.
He under throws almost all of them.
He missed Tutu on 3 or 4 walk in TDs if he got the ball out front.
The OT winner in Seattle was under thrown.
I don't know if that is done a lot to try and draw a flag, but, unless it is Puka who can catch tough balls as well as anyone in the league, they are going to be incomplete.

Well the have 49 mil in cap space. Say 20 of that is for Jackson. That leaves 29. You mentioned Stafford being re-done. I see them signing a couple top FAs.

And imo they can do a lot better than Robinson at #3. Just my opinion.
I hope Jackson doesn't cost that much as he's not worth it.
But, limited options in the FA market means he may well get it.

What do you think Bolton will cost?
North of 10m/yr I'd assume. Probably closer to 12m.

I remember really wanting Willie Gay Jr in the draft and then he played very well for KC. He was on the 'Aints last season and it appears he didn't even start. I'd certainly see what he would cost.

Agreed.

Stafford is better with bigger bodies, bigger catch targets.

That's why I'm all in on them paying Tee Higgins. I was happy to hear they heavily pursued Mike Evans last year.

Evan Engram is not a free agent but he might be a cap casualty. He will be 31 at the start of the season and I think he would love to join a team with Stafford/McVay.

If the Jaguars decide to cut Engram, it will be interesting to see how they handle it. A pre-June 1 cut would create roughly $6 million and leave them with a $13.5 million dead cap charge. However, giving it a post-June 1 designation would clear up $15.5 million in space with just a $4 million dead-cap charge in 2025
Engram got hurt end of 2024 season but has been a stud for JAX when he plays the last 2 years. Long and Allen are expendable JAGs.

It’s extremely difficult to hit someone in stride full speed on every go route, especially if you’re maneuvering the pocket and can’t step up.

That passes to Robinson is about as good as it gets, especially while rolling to the left. You’re talking about a margin of 5 yards, it’s not like he’s overthrowing like Caleb Williams or throwing flat balls like the Goff INT to Williams in the wildcard.

The pass to Puka and Robinson deep this past game, and the deep ball to Kupp against Bucs under pressure are examples of beauties that Stafford throws a well.

The receiver needs to read and adjust. Hill knows when to show his hands and hit the brakes. He made ppl think that Tua was actually decent in 2023.

Yes he'd be a good addition as well. I like Andrews or Engram. I like Andrews more since he's a higher rated run blocker. Wouldn't be mad at either addition.
