I suspect Rams will be judicious in signing their own FAs and 2nd round of FA. Lots of guys who haven't been released yet. Think it's gonna be picking up role players with no real stars. Filling holes, allowing them to go in multiple directions in the draft.

Some of my thoughts:
WR
Darius Slayton (drops are the biggest issue with him)
DeMarcus Robinson (re-sign despite the suspension)
Allen Lazard (Jets are likely to cut him; intriguing player due to his size and blocking ability)

TE
Mark Andrews (might be available for trade)
Kyle Pitts (might be available for trade)
Michael Mayer (might be available for trade)
Kylen Granson (undersized move TE who suffered due to poor QB play in Indy)

OL
Alaric Jackson (re-sign or franchise and re-sign)
Josh Jones (solid swing OT)
Daniel Brunskill (solid utility OL)

DL
Greg Gaines (NT depth)
Bobby Brown III (try to retain)
TJ Slaton (NT to replace Brown)

EDGE
Michael Hoecht (try to retain)
Azeez Ojulari (worth considering on a cheap prove it deal; has had injury issues, but he can get after the QB)
Darrell Taylor (if he's available for a cheap prove it deal, worth considering due to his pass rush potential)

LB
Nick Bolton (would solve many of our run defense problems; physical Mike who has great instincts; only 24)
Dre Greenlaw (Has had injury issues and is older than Bolton, but he is a very good ILB when healthy)
Zack Baun (Bit of a risk as a one-year wonder, but I loved him as a prospect; boom/bust signing)
Robert Spillane (veteran who defenders the run at a high level)

CB
Charvarius Ward (very good CB, but he's older [turning 29])
Ahkello Witherspoon (solid player for us; try to retain)
Carlton Davis (good CB, but not sure he's a scheme fit unless we want to run more press; durability is also an issue)
Eric Stokes (has shown flashes, but has been up and down in Green Bay)
Asante Samuel Jr. (good fit for the scheme we've been running, but I'm hoping for somebody bigger and stronger)

FWIW, I'm not very high on Byron Murphy (inconsistent in coverage) or D.J. Reed (too small). I think we need more size and run defense at CB.

Would also look at adding Leki Fotu on a one-year, prove-it deal. He had an injury, but was a solid nose tackle for the Cardinals.

Are we sure that Big Rob is going to continue playing? We may have a Swiss cheese line again if he hangs it up

How about a trade for Jonathan Taylor? He's a all around back with much better speed than Williams. I know he's been known to fumble from time to time also. Just a thought

Colts would ask for the moon, and they should.

Other than Alaric Jackson, who do you see the Rams prioritizing to bring back?

Mike Evans
Courtland Sutton
Brock Bowers

That’s the three offensive weapons McVay wanted last year. He didn’t get any of them. I think he hoped that Colby Parkinson’s size would give him that red zone target and contested catch ability that Evans or Sutton would have provided. Bowers was just do it all stud.

So it’s a logical guess that in McVays mind that type of pass catcher is still what he desires for this offense. Aside from Tee Higgins I don’t see one in free agency.

Perhaps Pitts could be that guy?

I would love Bolton here. I'd probably try to address a CB in the draft as they are rather expensive as vets. Slayton would be a great add and I like some of what he brings more the DRob. I've been a big fan of Asante Samuel Jr since his college days and would love him in horns.

ILB I want Nick Bolton or Dre Greenlaw :censored: hopefully someone like Mcvay can get him to reign in the antics.

I'd also want to kick the tires on Kyle Pitts.

I wonder about Greenlaw, the Rams moved on from Jones. Do you think they would take on a guy like Greenlaw (seriously asking, I have wanted a true grinder at ILB for years).

Pitts is interesting. He seems truly underused by Atlanta. If he clicks with Penix doubt he'll be available. He is a guy I think McVay and Stafford would love to have as a weapon.

Nick Motherfucking. Bolton.

That is all I'll ask for.
With the youth movement on defense, Bolton makes a lot of sense. He turns 25 later this year. Add him to the nucleus of young guys, and we could have something for a while.

Like Jerry posted as a thought, I'd take Michael Mayer as a tight end. Completely forgotten about in Las Vegas, but he was an elite tight end prospect at one point who fell into the second round, and was later supplanted by Brock Bowers. I'd gladly trade a third (#100 overall, the pick we got for Morris) for him to eventually take over Higbee's spot.
