This could be our LT of the future. He is 24 made the pro bowl twice and still on his rookie deal. He wants to be a LT to honour his dad. They have Stanley at LT who is paid handsomely.

I feel we match up extremely well with Baltimore. They need a real receiver they also may need a real RT who is cheap for the next couple years and they run the ball a lot so Havenstein fits here big time.
As far a receiver trade well this could be where if Havenstein and a low round pick don't work then perhaps a receiver like kupp?
I prefer to do the Havenstein trade. I do think it fits and Brown can be resigned next year or even franchised if need be when the cap gets better/right. This makes a lot of sense. Love this guy and this would be a target of mine no doubt.

We dont have enough first rounders left lol. A good young LT would cost us our next 7 I believe lol

Lolol No no first rounders. Baltimore is also trying to win now and I believe there qb will be coming due soon but regardless. Havenstein here makes a ton of sense he is excellent against the run and just ok against the pass but with Jackson that works. He is cost controlled and I mean like a 5th or 7th etc.

Digging deeper I'm sure they would want kupp. I'd rather not bit this is a serious piece to me. Having said all that. Let's say it's Havenstein it frees up money get us our future and then allows us to seek the receiver we choose or if Marvin Jones wants to be here on the cheap? Savings can go towards upgrading center. Just opens up some options for us.

Not sure it'd be worth it for us, but I could see them wanting Kupp and Havenstein and that being a fair trade.

Both are still in their prime, locked up and they get these contracts in now before they make Jackson a billionaire. They have a deep threat already, Kupp would be the possession guy they need.

I feel like the Ravens would be getting the better end of that deal though.

I don't know if O. Brown has the feet and athleticism to pass block we'll enough for LOT position.
Kinda like putting Hav over to the left side. Could be a prescription for disaster.

And definitely not both that's too much....the argument made is the guy has played right tackle and filled in at left tackle so that's leverage for the rams. They are getting their very expensive LT back so a good affordable actually cheap RT in Havenstein and a pick could be enough. It adds to there run game and Havenstein isn't the worst pass blocker and Lemar makes Havenstein better. That's the trade I'd make or some type of trade that resembles that. It's very rare NFL trades for players can satisfy both teams needs and cap. This fits.

Now on to Kupp. Should they want Kupp then that's a different trade it also fits like a glove but there is an argument to be made for that both ways. I don't know how trading kupp affects this year's cap but as much as I love him if you could turn Kupp into your future 24 year old LT on his rookie deal this year and then add Marvin Jones at a lesser price it's something to think about. Remember this not to knock Kupp but as I mentioned in another post kupp has missed every important game the rams have basically played in. That's something to think about. The other thing is kupp even though he is a favourite of mine will he be as effective without Goff who just always looked and depended on him. Argument could be made he maybe less effective targeted less or possibly more effective as some throws right on the money could benefit him. Some easy catches etc.
I lean by far for the Havenstein deal but I'd have to at least consider the kupp trade for a player like that. You can draft a bit differently as well. You don't have to use a pick for another Whitworth predecessor. There are a lot of positives here.

He played there this year. I'm not buying the whole honoring his dad thing though lol I think he knows left tackles get paid more lol

Does he want to be an LT? Sure to pay MUCH better than playing RT.

He is in his final season on his rookie contract......meaning he will be demanding a big starting LT salary in 2021. I would trade the Ravens our RT Havenstein for RT Brown & their 2021 3rd round & 6th round selections. That will make Snead happy. That's it done deal!

I would make that trade in our sleep but I think it may have to be the other way around we are giving up the picks. Talk about solving a problem though and next year we could lock him up. Hopefully the cap gets better/right and it opens up so.e other doors.

Yes the reason he's looking for a trade is to be a LT and get paid. We don't have a LT spot open and we don't have a whole lotta cookies in the jar to pay him.

We say that every year and we pay people. The rams are excellent at managing the cap. Dead money will mostly all be off and the cap will hopefully make somewhat of a recovery. You also won't have a qb taking up 34 million especially if Stafford gets restructured/extended.
Whitworth will more than likely be done after this year Brown is a must get and maybe based on his body of work he can comprise and play RT this year knowing it's all his next year and the rams can let him know that they will pay him fairly as a LT. Also there are 17 games next year I don't know if Whitworth will be able to hold up for all those. It's and excellent move to make and a great "break glass I'm case of emergency."
If Havenstein goes the other way brown will be your most expensive lineman probably followed by Corbett unless we spend big on a center.

hahaha fine then ignore the money part of it and focus on the reason he's actually asking to be traded.

He wants to play LT

Is he going to do that with us? And if not will he want to be traded to us. Then ask yourself what is fair compensation for him and no Havenstein is not fair compensation for him. But even then ask yourself again is he going to play LT for us and if not will he be happy playing something other than LT with a different team when his current team could do that too.
