So much overreaction. One loss to perhaps the most difficult opponent they will face this year.
I actually agree with you but specific to the push up front and the run game, it’s been an issue going back to last season…even when no one had any complaints about the OL in pass pro.

The running lanes aren’t there. The swing passes to the backs SHOULD be there at the very least. Either the backs need to max protect or get out in the flats into some short routes. Or both. Execute something.

It's bad when Buzz has half an inch on me :explode1:

The reason I'm bringing up the adding of a running back is because Williams is out for quite some time and I'm assuming it's going to take him time to get up to speed again. With that said, we have two running backs that have been very vulnerable to injury in the past. I think it's a good idea for the Rams to pursue a running back prior to that happening. It wouldn't surprise me or anyone else at all if Hendo got hurt. By bringing this conversation up I'm not at all saying we shouldn't also spend on the o-line either.

I heat what your saying, but my question is why is Jake Funk still on still on The Rams
Roster?_
I know he is a core special teams guy.

They need to set goals for the entire unit + the RB’s. Maybe they already do. Idk.

First down runs, first half yardage, ypc/gm, broken tackles, making guys miss etc.

It’s going to be a long year if the run game gets stuck in that 2 to 3 ypc range week after week.

I think the offensive line played on their heels so to speak. They got pushed back. it goes way back to last year. They have to get better. McVay stayed with the first down runs again with poor results. I would not put the blame on the RBs. Of course, all parts of the running game have to step up. It could be a long year with no run game. Improvement must start with the offensive line.

To me the oddest part of this is the Akers thing. What in the world did he do to get in McVay's doghouse?

IF we are signing a RB, which I think I'd rather invest the money in a human being that can run block even in the slightest, I wouldn't mind: Lindsay, Booker, Mack, D.Johnson, Malcolm Brown, D.Gore. All would have some use for us. Really just wish we had held onto Michel who was a perfect back to have back there. A reliable back that goes North South and gains yards every play.
I wanted to keep Michel too. I felt like he was in McVay’s doghouse ever since his week 4 fumble, and never came out of it again after that. Even with Michel saving the running game the last 5-6 weeks of the season, I just felt McVay was ready to move on from him as quickly as possible. Maybe I’m wrong about that though.

I thought it made sense to bring him back on a 2 year deal with the uncertainty of how Akers would bounce back, and Henderson always seeming to be banged up. The Rams could have drafted Kyren still and carried those 4 RBs on the roster. Then the Rams would have had the option of letting Henderson walk at the end of the year, and still had 3 RBs ready to go for 2023.

Bad run blocking will make any RB look bad. Waiting on this line to gel before I assume we have issues with RBs. Although Aker’s pass protection leaves a lot to be desired

Damien Harris is in contract year and there were rumors of him being traded in training camp. Mcsnead has history with BB. Would be a great upgrade.

Snead should just cut a contract with New England to scout and hold an extra RB who can grind out the tough yards on their roster for us. Then he can surrender a midround pick every year around this time for him.

Damien Harris? Pats dumped Michel because Harris became their lead back and had 15 td last year. Cant imagine the Pats would be trading him since they only have 3 RBs now with Montgomery going on IR and a 4th round rookie who wasnt even active week 1

If Funk has to play, we are in real trouble. He's a deep back up for a reason.

Hey don't rain on the parade. Its ok to ask for the Pats to have a brain fart and trade a contract year player like him away. Besides, Stevenson is the future there.
