Yeah, me too! I'm hoping that Heaven has the greatest, never ending dog park. A place where we all can roll around in the grass and play together.

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - Anna Browne has a thing for corgis, but she's not ready to get her own. "I live in a studio... I work late most nights," said Browne, who works in financial services. So she found an app that lets her borrow one.

Bark'N'Borrow is a service that connects dog owners with dog lovers who don't or can't have their own furry companions. The dog lovers can borrow other people's dogs for short visits or even overnight stays.

"This is the next best thing between not owning a dog and committing to one," said Bark'N'Borrow CEO and Founder Liam Berkeley.

Browne now regularly "borrows" Sam the Corgi. His owner, Weiling Chen, decided to start a profile for him after reading about the app's launch.

"I did want him to be a little more socialized," Chen said. Though she did have some initial hesitations about letting a stranger hang out with Sam. "It sounded a little odd but you kind of figure if they're dog owners or dog lovers than it shouldn't be too bad," Chen said.

Chen has met up with a handful of potential borrowers to feel them out. Now Browne has become a regular.

"It's like a delight," Browne said. "On the weekend if I can hang out with a corgi for a couple of hours it's amazing."

Berkeley, the app's founder, told us the company individually reviews and vets every borrower's profile.

"That question is asked a lot," he said. "What if I lend my dog out to someone who wants to hurt it? We collect your residential info, your billing info, your address, your full details. There are much easier ways to get your hands on a dog if you are that type of person that wants to hurt a dog or steal a dog than going through our platform and through our system. We try to do the utmost."

I'm going thru a rough time with my boy here. He is having a hard time walking on his good days, but he still grabs his leash when I get home from work and whines for me to take him out. I try to make it a short walk, but he wants to keep going. Then when we get home after 10-15 minutes or so, he can barely move. I have been giving him Daxaquin for his joints for about a year now, but it really doesnt help at all.

Sorry to hear that.

It's amazing how strong they are even when they are hurting. Good luck with him.

Sucks, I know. None of Rox's joint meds ever seemed to do much. She did take some pain pills that really helped her.
If you're interested, I'll find out what we used. In the mean time, you'll just have to carry him.

Family dog brings home pound of marijuana

Associated Press

LAUREL, Miss. (AP) -- Officials say a family dog in Mississippi recently brought home a big bag of marijuana.

The Jones County Sheriff's Office says in a statement that narcotics deputies were sent to the home Saturday to investigate the unusual incident.

According to the statement, the homeowner told deputies that he had let his dog out to roam, and the pet came back carrying a bag. The owner inspected it and found that it contained a leafy substance that smelled like marijuana.

Authorities say they recovered about a pound of the drug. How or where the dog got the bag is not known.

apparently Mickey has been diagnosed with dogzheimers.. or canine cognitive disorder

He has been acting funny for a few weeks , wandering around in the middle of the night, barking at the front door and just staring into corners. Vet told us to start him on melatonin to adjust his sleep habits and see if that works for now, if not we will start a treatment with Anipryl

It's so hard watching them get old. All you can do is try and make sure they are as comfortable as possible. Spoil him more than ever Mike. When our Harley was getting way up there... I'd put an extra filet on the grill just for him,,, and he never got table food for the most part normally. Well, except for Fried Egg Friday lol.

Hey all - more pics (as promised). Coop on his rock - thinks he's a goat.
Brought him home 4 weeks ago today. Haven't had a pup for 14 years - forgot what a handful they are. Totally worth it though.
Monday he'll be 11 weeks, and weighed 15.5 lbs. this morning, so he's gained 8 lbs since we got him. Have a feeling he'll end up around 90 - his dad was 110, so I better get him trained before he get's big enough to tell me to f'off.

Anyway - happy Friday, and enjoy the weekend.

COOPER 4 MONTHS.jpg

Coop at 17 weeks - 32 lbs. (They grow up so fast!) :rolllaugh:
He was 'Cudjo' from 10-14 weeks, much better now - seems to have just been a bitey phase goldens go through.
Starting to develop a personality. I think goldens are a lot less laid back than labs - maybe it's cuz' he's a male and Roxy was female, but I don't think so.
I definitely do understand their continued popularity - he's pretty cool.
Gets his final shots tomorrow, so we can go the park and he can mix it up with other dogs.
Anyway all, just bumping the thread - enjoy your weekend.

Awesome! Coop looks great!

Sounds like he was teething. They are very "mouthy" at that age.

I taught Jett at a very early age what was acceptable pressure for him to apply to my hand. He's very good with that when I get on the floor and play with him like a dog. We roughhouse quite a bit. He snarls and barks and I let him mouth my arms. He never puts anything but light pressure on me with his jaws. Some people kind of get uneasy when we play like that, thinking he could lose control and hurt me. Jett and I both know the "rules of engagement" and when to say when. He also knows and respects that I'm the big dog.

I'm a bit envious of you having puppy Cooper to watch and enjoy growing up. When I get into a better living situation, I'm going to have to get another Golden pup. They definitely rock!

Like @Selassie I said , it's hard watching them grow old. The melatonin seems to settle him down a bit at night, but not completely. If we get 3-4 hours of uninterrupted sleep its a great night lol. He still barking at walls, which is kind of funny at times, but not at 3am.

Seal Beach, eh? That's a bit of a trip from my place but I'm always interested in hearing about and finding beaches that are cool with dogs.

Huntington Beach has a big dog beach. Seapoint Drive and PCH.

Seal Beach, we just take him to the jetty, just north of the pier. Don't think it's an official dog beach, but it's away from everyone and we never have issues. Just have to go during low tide.
