Or... your "brush with fame"?

Mine is Ace Frehely of KISS. Got to meet him at a show in Virginia and afterwards he was just hanging out. It was a small show - even some acoustic, and it was awesome. Anyway, we got to talking and I told him that his cousin, my 6th grade English teacher, Mr. Hayden, had shown us photos of him, Gene, Paul, and Peter without their make-up on, and it blew our minds because they hadn't been "unmasked" yet. He got a kick out of that and was even more impressed when I asked how his drummer was digging playing for David Letterman on his show (Anton Fig). I didn't ask him to sign anything because I was too involved in the conversation - star-struck, kinda, because KISS was my favorite band when I was a kid. Really cool experience.

Anyway, that was my cool conversation with a "celebrity". What's yours?

I've never MET him but I talk to Clifton Ryan a bit every day ( about )?

I've met Ryan ( the guitarist from a band called For Today )..

I'd say it's Andrew, a guitarist from the band Oceano ( one of my favorites ). He's the former guitarist but I talk to him a lot. He's a very cool and chill guy. Good sense of humor too!

Damn.

I was never able to get into anything heavier than Metallica or Megadeth. I'm sure those shows would be awesome live though. I'm a little too old to get back into the pit, but that's not to say I didn't have my fair share of mosh fights back in the day. I'd probably get crushed now with my elder-rock ass.

And yeah, I figured you made that sig. I'm starting to recognize your style. Nice job. :ww:

I drove limo in college in Palm Springs Cali.

I met a ton of 'em.

Most vapid and vain.

The reason I am to this day a Rams fan is that back in the day they held their workouts at Cal State Long Beach and stayed at a hotel my grammy worked at. She would call me and tell me that Richie Pettibone was in rm 304 and had left a 7am wake up request.

At 6:55 I was outside room 304 with my football and pen.

I got to be such a fixture I went to breakfast with them a few times.

Can you imagine...... 9 - 10 year old kid eating with professional football players???

I couldn't possibly follow any other team.

Call it kismet......

Pretty cool...

Don't forget about Mission Impossible II (Dougray Scott).

And, I'd love to get over there and visit Scotland, btw. Looks awesome.

After I blew out of baseball and just prior to my stint for the State of California's penal system, I worked as a radio DJ for a very small FM station in my home town. I got the job because of an internship I did in HS for a class.

Long story short, we got tickets to just about every concert in the area, Shreveport, Little Rock, Jackson Miss and somtimes Baton Rouge or NO. Sometimes they were backstage passes.

I saw KISS at least 10 times between '77 when I graduated and '79 when I went back out west.

Terrible musicians, I don't think Paul Stanley knows more than four or five chords (if you watch most time he doesn't even strum the guitar when he is singing) but the shows were off the chain......especially for the time. Ace Frehley could play but he was about the only one. And back stage...........fugetabowdit......it was like Caligula's Freakshow.

I won't go into the gory details as there are ladies here, but I saw things that would make a porn star blush.

I've heard of some of those accounts. Nikkie Sixx of Motley Crue once told of a few stories about what goes on behind the curtains. And yeah....... pretty freakin' bizarre.

My first wife and I spent a full practice chatting w/Brenda Warner in the bleachers at Macomb IL the year he BUSTED OUT and took us to the Superbowl.

After practice, we went to a restaurant and by coincidence were sat down next to her and Kurt. She said; "These were the people I was telling you about". He said "you drove a long way"... and other small chat. It was short, however, as I felt like a stalker or something.

At the time I told my wife; "He won't make the team"

LOL! True story!

Bahhhh hahahahha! I love it. "He won't make the team". That's perfect, man. Not a lot of us thought he would, really, and I'm glad he proved us all wrong. I do remember him lighting it up in Europe the year before though, and I thought based on that alone he'd probably get slated as the #3. All hopes were on Trent that year. Kurt Who?

Bob Hope: living in Puerto Rico he was filming something, I was 3, he was nice.

Phil Sims: Came into a restaurant that I worked at across from airport. Tipped very well.

Billy Bob Thorton: Was in Little Rock for work, he was at bar and came over to ask me and my girlfriend if we would like to go to his place and party!! He was very nice and extremely cool but made us feel kinda like college girl trash. Obviously, we didn't go.

The closest I've ever been meeting someone interesting was Troy Aikman at this cheesy kids insprational event back in 7th grade. Didn't even meet him personally...just saw him from afar.

Although...I did meet a former OU running back (not Adrain Peterson) but the guy who was the starter before him. Didn't make it into the NFL, but was a pretty popular Sooner.

There is my story. Damn... I'm still blown away by the outcome.

In 2004, I shook George W Bush hand at a rally. I got photos!

I've met two sitting presidents (Bush and Obama) when in the Army, and a lot of various celebrities in Hollywood from my dad.

Got to speak to both of them for a little bit, both were pretty nice guys, but that's to be expected from most public officials, especially when they're dealing with troops.

I mentioned this before in another thread where my father worked for the richest dude in Montana, Dennis Washington. There was a weekend where I was a chauffeur for this huge conference Washington held in Glacier Park back in the 90's. During my three days working it:

1 - I sat at dinner with Herschal Walker and his wife.
2 - Met Colin Powell and Norman Schwarzkopf
3 - Sat at a luncheon with "Magnum P.I." Tom Sellack, and the Judd's, Naomi and Wynonna
4 - Chauffeured John Gresham and his wife through Glacier Park.

It was a great time. Most of those in attendance were pretty cool. The only real POS that I met was Jerry Jones.

Also, in '81, I was at a conference in Las Vegas with my high school from Montana and met "Facts of Life" star Nancy McKeon. She was hot and I even got to give her a kiss.
