I was screaming at my TV at Shula on Sunday but I was wrong. The defense dialed it up a notch in the 2nd half. There was nobody for Purdy to throw to on more than one play. And the pressure on Purdy also picked up.

Excuse Me What The Fuck You Say GIF by Power Book II: Ghost

In case you, um, didn't watch...we utterly shut down the 69ers in the second half and won the game. This is a very young defense with a very young DC. It's going to take time to gel, and we'll be even better when guys like Kobie Turner, Braden Fiske, and Jared Verse get up to Byron Young's level. We could even put Tyler Davis and/or Desjuan Johnson at nose to help with the running game (don't lambast me for saying Johnson could help; in college, he was a dominant run-stopper). Replacing Rozeboom/Reeder with Speights/Hummel would be nice, but we'll see when that happens. Durant's having a nice bounce-back year and getting Darious Williams back after the bye will help a tremendous amount.

This is three games in, we're 1-2, and this season is not over yet.

The pressures are there for our young D-line, which should soon turn into sacks or hurried throws, and I'm not worried about the secondary either. They will improve when Darious Willians comes back and I don't believe they have been that bad, especially when QBs have had "forever" to find a receiver. It's the linebackers that I am truly worried about, at this point anyway.

I’m not quite as worried about LBs.. Reeder has been functional. Rozeboom not so much. We’ll see.

The poster’s bio says he is from the City of Angels.

This is one reason why Niners’ fans (and a few other teams) have a dominant presence at SoFi. There are some great Rams’ fans in Los Angeles. Just not enough.
I think when you have locales the size of L.A., you have populations with more than a stadium full of fans of every team. They're all waiting for their team to come play the Rams. It's happening to other teams in other large metropolitan areas as well.
