I haven't seen much of Simpson. But I got the impression he isn't any better than Stetson Bennett. And Bennett ain't that good. Maybe day 2 Simpson might be an option if they think he's an upgrade from Bennett. But I have a feeling they won't consider him much if any of an upgrade. I'd rather they wait till day 3 and take a project with potential. Like Nussmier, Beck or Allar. It might take moving up into the 4th round for one of those guys.

He's better than Stetson and about 4 inches taller.

Should watch him then. Especially if you like Nuss, Beck or Allar you really should watch Simpson.

Neither of those 3 are good and every time I watched Simpson I did not see anything I liked and believe me I wanted to really like him.
Those 3 are all bad for varying reasons. Simpson had some bad games and some very good games and he's started less than those 3. I saw nothing from those 3 that makes me even want them as UDFA but I'll take Simpson. It's all up to McSnead though not us.

That would be a pretty big reach at that spot. Simpson doesn't have that many college starts and I've watched him about 4 times and nothing about him grabbed my attention.

The Rams will be looking for starters with the 13th pick not experimental QBs prospects.

I don't love any of the QB's in the positions they are projected, as previously stated
Simpson will likely get pushed the board due to being the #2 by most pundits. Nuss, Allar, Beck all have issues. This QB draft likely play's against us.

If I am going to grab a project (a big one) it's Talen Green, especially if you can do it with a 5th, although he may get pushed up higher after the combine.
6'6" has had some really big games of 300 & 400 yards can run, has 4.4 and reaches almost 23mph, He is a freak athlete, but is super raw with a lot of concerns but this class isn't looking favorable to us IMO

Because those teams, like the Raiders have big issues all across their roster. Which is why I believe (IMO) teams with the top 3 picks will bargain with a team that have multiple 1st round picks and take 2 and 3 rounds picks and next years 1st and 2nd round picks, to solve more than just one issue.
I don't know if Mendoza will amount to much, but, with the hiring of a young OC as their new head coach, I cant imagine the Raiders not going Mendoza at 1.

Stetson isn't an NFL-calibre QB so being better than him isn't much of an accomplishment.

This guy disagrees....

I agree with McShay that a McVay/Simpson pairing could be great for both parties. But, it's probably not going to happen like he said.

I'd really love to see what Ty Simpson could do in an offense that specializes in play action and has a legit rushing attack which is something he did not have at Alabama. The kid looked like an actual NFL QB to me before the bottom fell out. And he can make plays with his legs.

If he comes in at his listed height or taller and about 215 lbs. at the combine his stock just might shoot up high enough to intrigue LaFleur in Arizona if they don't sign a veteran. Or maybe even Miami at #11.

.

Is this like the draft a few years ago when the Lions traded up to #12 and the bozos at espn said they would take Malik Willis?

He didn't get drafted until the 3rd round.

He’s been around for 4 years but he’s got less than 20 start which is less than ideal. It doesn’t mean he can’t be good but QBs with more than 25 starts in college have had more success.
I saw that Field Yares was mocking 2 cbs to the Rams in rd 1 which was interesting.
