What an idiot. I've never liked McShay
For the record OP didn't do anybody favors by not including what McShay actually said about this possible draft pick. Including more than a screenshot to give some context would have helped a lot.

“So, I put him at 13 in this (latest) mock draft. As of right now, I don’t think that’s going to happen, but wait for it. I’ve been doing this for two and a half decades, as we get closer and without other (elite) quarterbacks, somebody’s going to rise, and I could see Ty winning over a lot of coaches in those (Combine) meetings.”

So he put him there thinking it doesn't happen but speculates that as the process advances he'll win teams including the Rams over.

And my BOLD prediction is NO... they won't draft him. They will draft a WR or CB at 13 and the other at 29. And the big IF is that IF the draft picks they have targeted are there.

I think a WR would be a good plan B at 13, but a CB at 29????? That's a waste of 1st round draft pick IMO.

I'm not a quitter

That makes way more sense.

One one hand, I’d be disappointed because there are potentially elite and day1 impact guys available. Plus I’m not sold on him as an NFL QB.

On the other hand, if McVay is sold and he’s the guy for him, then getting your future QB at 13 without any further trade capital given up - that’s Gold!

So I’ll trust McVay and the process. He knows better than me ;)

If the Rams are looking for Stafford's future replacement, they are going to try and trade up for #1 overall pick. If they cant make a deal with the Raiders I think they go for a stud WR.

Raiders are not giving up that #1 pick

I thought the point of this year's free agency and draft was to maximize Matthew Stafford and win a Super Bowl?
Snead didn't exactly say that. That's just how many fans took it.

Snead said that while they have Matthew, they probably will lean a little more towards maximizing the present versus building for the future. He said that percentage could be 51/49, 60/40, etc. He implied a little lean towards maximizing Stafford, not a full tilt where the whole focus of free agency and the draft is for the present.
