Hope screenshot shows well.

I reckon Todd likes Simpson better than Mendoza.....?

And my BOLD prediction is NO... they won't draft him. They will draft a WR or CB at 13 and the other at 29. And the big IF is that IF the draft picks they have targeted are there.

Context always helps so lets look at his comments.

“So, I put him at 13 in this (latest) mock draft. As of right now, I don’t think that’s going to happen, but wait for it. I’ve been doing this for two and a half decades, as we get closer and without other (elite) quarterbacks, somebody’s going to rise, and I could see Ty winning over a lot of coaches in those (Combine) meetings.”

So he put him there thinking it doesn't happen but speculates that as the process advances he'll win teams including the Rams over.

Well.. if his tape shows he was the best QB in the country over the last 9 games, and if he wins over coaches at the combine or in interviews, and has shown a strong arm, competitiveness, pocket awareness, mobility, and smarts.. someone else will draft him before 13. Too may QB-needy teams out there. JMO.

So, Rams were in a good position to get a top rated QB in this upcomng draft since they have the two #1 draft pics to work with. Apparently, there is not really a top QB worthy other than Mendoza, who's going to the Raiders.

Now what? Should Rams look to draft a QB in the following draft in 2027 instead? If yes, then shouldn't the Rams do something to end up with two #1 picks in 2027 as they have now for 2026. I am afraid if we don't have two #1 picks in 2027, and win the Super Bowl this coming season, we are not going to have a shot a getting that stud QB this draft or next. The Rams may be doomed if it goes that way.

Maybe signing a free agent qb or trading for a QB is the way the Rams will have to deal with post-Stafford.

Rams need a top-rated QB after Stafford. It's the majority of the Super Bowl winners...they have that top QB (Mahomes, Brady, etc.).

Yeah, this is a really good point. If he ends up being that impressive why wouldn’t the Jets, Cardinals, Browns, or Dolphins take a shot at him? Lol

Because those teams, like the Raiders have big issues all across their roster. Which is why I believe (IMO) teams with the top 3 picks will bargain with a team that have multiple 1st round picks and take 2 and 3 rounds picks and next years 1st and 2nd round picks, to solve more than just one issue.

But QB is the most important position in football. If there’s a quality QB available and it’s a position of need for your team you take it.

Lol, and I’m sorry, I don’t want to be a dick because I love all of Rams nation..we are all supporters of the same cause…

But it’s hard to take you seriously after you said the Rams should trade Puka Nacua and multiple 1sts for Mendoza haha.

If Simpson impresses at combine/pro day I could see the Bengals trade #10 or the Dolphins could take him or trade their pick at #11. I just dont see him going higher than that
Realistically, I think he'll go to the Steelers at #21

Browns will ride with Shedeur in '26, the owner has a man crush on him
Jets at #16 could be a possibility

I see him as a round 2 or later talent. Round 3 is probably better, but need is going to make some team convince themselves that half of one season in his entire career as a starter in college is who he's going to be in the NFL, and they'll take him earlier.

If it's the Rams I'll deal and hope they hit. If it's another team I'll point and laugh while we hopefully build defense in those early picks.

Hopefully if we take a QB it's midrounds. That's where the value picks at the position will be.

I thought the Bengals were trading Burrow to us!

I could see Simpson going in the top half of the 1st after the combine and interviews/private workouts.

29? Sure
Trade up from 29 to 20? Mmmm Ok
13? That's a tough ask with some of the folks who could still be available
If they could trade down a few spots from 13 and still end up with one of Boston, Lemon, Styles, or one of the top CBs, then it wouldn't be horrible. That way you get an extra top 80 pick and worse case you use that to move up a few spots from 29 to get Simpson. That way you still have two 2nd day picks to address WR, CB, DL, etc... along with whatever you did with the first 1st round pick.

Fuck that shit. Simpson is not a blue chip talent, and I'd be upset if he was the pick at #13 over many of the talented receivers, corners, or edge rushers out there.

Seems to me there is a bit of a drop off after the first 15 or so players. I'd rather they trade up to get the guy they want as opposed to trading back

Hmmm

The Rams gave up our #1 overall pick (Goff), a 2021 third-round pick, a 2022 first-round pick, and a 2023 first-round pick for a 33 year old QB that lead his team to a 3-13 record in 2021......... And the Rams were left with only 4 draft picks in 2022 after the 33 year old Von Miller deal. Seemed pretty dicey at the time....... Sometimes you have to give to get.

And I'm sure most Rams fans were screaming bloody murder at the Rams.
