I hate that we have to have this looming over our head and I hope he makes a decision sooner rather than later. Maybe it's just a money thing or maybe he legitimately feels like he doesn't want to go through another grueling year after being completely let down by defense and special teams.

I wouldn't blame him for retiring but I want him back and looking to finish his career with another Super Bowl. I think he takes some time to talk with McVay and Snead and really stresses the need for support from defense and special teams because he can't carry this team by himself.

Interested to get everyone's take on this.

How much of this offense can they retain? What is the plan for defense and special teams?
Guess need an answer from him before the draft.

If Stafford retires, I can't see Adams staying either, and it would send a giant domino effect throughout the organization. I hope for our sakes that Stafford doesn't retire, but I can't blame him if he wants to call it a career; he wins this MVP, and he's done everything that's possible to do for a quarterback, save for Super Bowl MVP, and he's got a young family of girls.

For sure. If he isn't back then there's gonna be a helluva lot of decisions to be made.

He should go to Snead and McVay and said the team needs are ….. and sign and draft the best available FA and rookies. Then he will continue on a year to year basis.

Sorry - no fucking way he's not back.
Stupid article - asking that after he just lost a very winnable game.
That said, he needs/wants to see how the team shapes out during the off season, and deserves to (will) have some input. He's pretty much holding the cards.

Absolutely want him to stick around for at least one more year.

Ultimately, just hope he makes the decision sooner rather than later.

I think the competitor in him will want to run it back. I get not wanting to discuss anything after such a brutal loss where he did everything in his power to get the Rams to the Superbowl only to have our shit defense and mistake prone special teams kill that dream. As crazy as his wife may seem, she seems to be ok with letting Stafford decide if he wants to continue. I don't think he'll hold us hostage for too long and wouldn't be surprised if he just goes on vacation very soon to unwind and let his mind rest. Once he makes tge decision, I highly doubt the Rams will hesitate to meet any financial demands he has.

If he isn't back, we'd probably promptly re-sign Jimmy G or possibly trade for a QB. I'd hate to say this, but I could see us targeting Burrow but being denied only to look into Kyler Murray. The only other QB i could see becoming an interesting option would be Malik Willis. He has played in a very similar offense with great (small sample size) results when called upon.

He should also go to Kroenke and have him put together a multi-million $$$ "Scholarship Fund" that he awards to Stafford's girls when they go to college, and/or co-ownership for some massive real estate venture.

This way it doesn't count against the cap, Stafford can earn his $30M and the rest can be spent on killer defensive studs :)

Based on 2025, I’d have no problem adding another year (2027) onto his deal. If he demanded it, I’d even add 5-10M more. I’d hope he didn’t since that means less for the team. But he’s worth it - so I’d give in if needed.

if he stays and they come up short again then his rep will take a bigger hit than if he retires. I guess it's how much he wants to ramp up like he needs to and if he even can, he is getting older. then how does his years look in regard to performance after his 1 Superbowl. he's always had good numbers, just not too many dances. He should not linger on a decision this time. rams have to move on if so.

My take is the same as before we were eliminated on Sunday and the same as it was 12 months ago after the Philly elimination game.

There’s too much reliance on this offense to be great through Stafford’s arm. He’s awesome but he’s 37 ffs.

As fans we love our guys but objectively speaking and when you look around the league….

There’s only one elite skill guy on offense (besides Stafford) and that’s Nacua.

Put a couple of elite offensive players around him that can elevate a play call.

Our RB’s are average. Skilled but slow that get ankle tackled constantly. Questionable hands.

Our TE’s are average. Skilled but slow with too many drops.

WR3 is JAG and zero behind that.

RB is the big one. Giving the QB a big play option where he doesn’t have to do anything but hand off. More receivers with dynamic YAC abilities also needed.

The recent draft/FA mantra of bringing in tough “football players” who love football has been a positive thing but IMO it may be hurting us a bit in the skill position evals(Nacua being the outlier). Having players who buy in and will give you 110% every day is awesome but you still need players who are simply gifted physically. Players who can take over games.

I hope Stafford returns but I’d understand if he doesn’t. He needs help. EVERYTHING relies on his arm and brain doing elite things.

I think everyone will come back except Higbee and Havenstein, since we have their replacements on board. I also think at least one of our first-rounders will be a receiver as well. Crazy to believe, but I think the offense is even better next year.

Every players agent who is in the last year of contract or a free agent have advised their clients to be non-committal. Part of negotiating. But this feels a little groundhog day like.

When they did his recent deal they all said it was year to year
No negotiating needed
