I’m seeing some Stafford for Tua suggestions on Twitter. If we trade for Tua….man that would be a major disappointment. He’s one bad hit from his career being over. He’s got worse health issues than Stafford.

I'm of the opinion that Stafford on the Giants gets them 4 more wins at least. I believe when I looked at their record, they lost 6 games by one score with an awful QB back there. A stud QB, drafting one of the many great RB's this draft, and Nabors and they are not a bottom dwelling team. Just my opinion however.
You could honestly say we're the Giants without Stafford in a way.

Raiders fans are buzzing to trade for Stafford.
They hired a college play designer in Kelly, so I expect them to take a college QB and run a simplified scheme that allows him to translate quickly like Washington did last season. Guessing it'll be Sanders.

We were the Giants without McVay. So yes the difference in the Giants vs the Rams is probably 80% QB function.

That said Stafford won't consider them. He will want a team with a stable winning situation so he can chase another ring.

Looking at the Aaron Rodgers trade, I wonder if a first round pick swap and swapping our pick 90 for their pick 34 would be a decent framework for a Giants deal.

That sounds like a problem then :)

If it helps, IMO, the best FA LB is not Baum or Bolton; will not cost anywhere near as much + signijg him weakens a rival

Early signs indicate that Greenlaw will not be back with the 49ers. Go get him! He’s great
Reed/Baun/Bolton were just meant to be FA examples. I trust Rams could find best fit at best price for those 2 positions. Point being we need some FA vets to augment draft picks to elevate the Rams beyond decent playoff team. I’m not up on all Rams FA decisions so I mentioned the ones I want to see done. Would mean trading/releasing other vets (perhaps DWill/ Parkinson/etc) to net more cap space.

He’s made almost $400M. The only reason he is still playing is because he wants to win another Super Bowl and go to the HoF. That’s literally it.

You guys are straight up living in a fantasy world. *IF* Stafford gets traded, he is going to give Snead 1-2 acceptable teams. And Snead is going to get the best deal possible with those teams. That’s how this will work.
If that's the only reason, then he'd just play on his current contract. Money is playing some factor. How much is the question.

I've assumed from the first moment I've heard these rumors that our pick would go to them with Stafford if it were to happen. And if not so be it, I'd rather keep Stafford and chase another title this year.

Unfortunately there are teams like Pittsburgh who has been all over every QB option of late it seems. And they have a strong defense. Stafford would be a great fit there and so would Kupp.

Yeah this situation is frustrating as a fan. Feels like the Rams are hitting the eject button too soon (like they did in 2022 honestly), but it also feels like Stafford isn't being very flexible. Or maybe both. Or maybe they get something done soon and everything's fine and we're all bored idiots.

I think what the Rams are doing is saying the price is a high round pick, and they won't budge off that. But they won't need to because there are teams who want him and need that QB function upgraded to make the next step. Of the teams interested, once one of them gets Stafford sold on what they want to do (which may include Kupp being acquired as well btw) then the price is agreed upon and the move gets made.

Also... If Stafford doesn't find a situation and the pay he wants, then he returns to the Rams and plays 2025. But I think it is very unlikely someone won't take the plunge. Comes down to whether he likes the situation and coach.

My money is on Pittsburgh. Who probably wants both Stafford & Kupp.
I would think if a team WANTS a package deal - that is a more valuable trade than separate trades to 2 different teams. I hate even typing this but if Pitt wants both - let’s start with R1.2025, R3.2025, R2.2026, R5.2026.

Now this I'd be shocked and highly doubt would happen. Tua's brain has been rattled way too much. Rams would be called out big time if that happened and rightfully so.

Guys! They're letting him talk to other teams to gage where the market is. I would put money down that they haven't even given him the bare outline of a contract yet. I suspect Rams have a ballpark dea what other front officers are gonna offer and want Stafford and agents to get a bit more clarity on that so that everyone comes to the table with even more information to make a firm contract outline.

This development should not move the needle at all on what the odds have always been, something like 80% chance Stafford back with us. Doesn't mean something doesn't change but this shouldn't move the needle.

Negotiations!

Who cares what Stafford considers. Rams need to make the smart business move if he indeed wants to move on. He made money and won a Superbowl for us after we traded for him to leave that shitty Lions situation. Rams need to focus on getting the best deal possible, this is a business after all. If teams really covet him, submit your best offer or we won't trade him to you should be the message.

Stafford makes any team instantly better at the most important decision. That's why the Rams should get the best haul possible.
