May have got it here: https://www.daftondraft.football/p/nfl-draft-tyler-shough-accuracy-ball-placement-profile

The Achilles heel in Shough’s accuracy and ball placement profile, and the unironic reason I have a hangup, is his inaccuracy working the short game. What I’ve found is that the majority of lapses in the short game stem from the inability to get the ball out on time. Shough is no different in this regard.

It’s an automatic floor sinker when a quarterback cannot operate on time, and only Alabama’s Jalen Milroe has a worse on-target percentage under 10 yards in this class. It makes me question just how quickly Shough is digesting information post-snap.

Never know who these people are on the internet but the link is an interesting read. Could be some hack for all I know, so dont shoot the messenger :). Overall the person doing this eval like the player alot.
@OldSchool

Yeah, this is one source that suggests it's a concern.

I don't recall the other reports I've seen but I've seen several that mentioned post-snap processing issues and/or locking on to first read. Since then, I've seen some that say it's a strength so it seems all over the place.

Interesting, I have never read a review of him criticize him for what this guy is speculating. I did just read he had a 70% completion on short throws. Better on platform than when blitzed like most QBs.

I'm actually warming up to moving Stafford for draft capital, signing Aaron Rodgers to a lot less money and getting a QB in the draft and using the cap room to continue to build.

A 2nd this year and a 1st next would be ideal and really a no brainer. Stafford definitely gives us the best chance next season, but the season after we might be f'd.

Same here, probably why I found the data interesting and on alot of levels makes sense. But what would make it more interesting is that data against current NFL QBs and seeing how it compares/translates to future success or failure at the NFL level.

Cap just went vroom vroom. The contract Stafford is gonna get will make peeps heads explode but should be taken into context with where the cap is and where it's most likely going.

a 2026 first from a dumb organization would be nice
There were people calling the Rams dumb for trading for him just a few years back. I think betting against Stafford isn't the smartest idea, even now that he's 36. If he goes to Pittsburgh, for example, not to mention it may be with Kupp, that defense would put him in winning position with the ball in his hands a lot.

But I'm fine with us moving him. Him wanting more money now, as the rebuild is arriving, irritates the fuck out of me. He inked the contract, and he got the title he wanted, now I'd rather he just play it out and get another title with this team. But this is life and the NFL I suppose. I just hate the business end of it.

It only jumped up $8M from where OTC projected ut... now sitting at $44M of cap room. Likley $51M after Kupp is traded or released.

There's a ton af variables to the data though so it would be interesting but it wouldn't really change my opinion of a prospect. Game tape is what matters even to the Rams.

I'm sure any team that trades for him has to be wary that he might decide to retire if he doesn't approve of his destination.
But you said if he agrees to a trade then it’s about the money. So either he only cares about the money and will play for the whomever will meet his contract demands or it’s about where he wants to play, which seems to be with the Rams.

But, how do we know what Rodgers will ask for.

That would be ideal, one who hasn’t been good for years and has an early first round pick.

I'm more referring to if he takes a deal with a team like New York as opposed to staying with us, then money was the most important factor. I still don't see him going to a team that he doesn't give approval to. If the browns jumped in the Stafford talks I'm pretty positive he'd rebuff.

Look at the destruction in the wake of Rogers. No fucking thank you. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze at this point. I’d rather load up on talent and give Jimmy G the reigns for a year than have Rogers tear apart our organization

I wouldn't move Stafford for a 1st this year. We need to win now and can easily miss on the pick. A 1st next year if the QB class is better, sure. Either draft a QB with it then or if it is not high enough we have two 1st rounders to try and move up with. If the picks are this year, the bidding starts at 1st and 2nd round pick IMO. Minimum. The dude is the 5th or 6th best QB in the NFL and always is A+ with the game on the line. You gotta pay up for that.
