Sounds to me that the Giants might have eyes for Ward rather then Stafford.

I could see a team who is reasonably a QB away from a title....Minnesota for example.
Outside of that, it makes no sense.

What matters is how the teams see themselves.

I wonder how honest teams have to be with competing organizations. Like if the raiders settled on 40 mil per year would they have to be honest about that number with the rams?

Teams have gotten burned in the past for lying, in later dealings. It comes back to bite you. It's still done but usually comes at a cost so it's not an all the time thing.

their o-line is terrible had like 24th most Sacks allowed in the nfl - and thats with two somewhat mobile QBS

... they do not have a good roster overall.

Here's the PFF grades for their offense. The line wasn't the problem.

Ok. To me, a 45M dead cap hit sounds like something you'd do for a player ya want to get rid of, not one ya really want to keep.

They pay that if he stays or goes. And if he stays the number jumps to 50 mill next year.
And that is with his current deal.
Now if they have to add 20 mill per to that?

Exactly.
Having to match a 2 year guaranteed 100+ mill deal is almost a poison pill. Potentially would leave a dead cap of 50-80 mill for 2027

He's worth $50mil+ but not to use where we're at.

Ehh there this QB draft sucks and the free agents are meh.

We will prob be a .500 at best team for two years without a QB/

Not that simple in my mind.

I think 45-47 is a fair offer however.

Not sure how effective Stafford will be with a journeyman or rookie LT, because him getting that kind of raise means Alaric Jackson is likly gone and no high priced offensive weapons or OTs will be coming here in FA.

Yeah - like Jared Goff getting traded . Your memory of The Rams last starting QB goes so far.

Maybe last season with Stetson Bennett. AD99’s retirement was shocking,but like The Rams & Cooper Kupp is he going.Your saying a Rams HOF WR is getting traded or cut ?

I guess all the other big trades have happened during the season.I still wonder if The Rams didn’t turn things around was Kupp or Stafford gone ??

I don’t know the answers,but when there’s smoke.Kupp is the example of how much The Rams would have wanted to have unloaded Kupp..
There are a few other examples to think nothing is going to happen.

I’ll predict Stafford is gone.The interview & now the movement of the Raiders makes me think it is or came close to a trade.

So next year we draft a QB.

A rookie QB never wins anything so yeah 2-3 years of irrelevance like i said.

At some point moving to the next QB is going to happen - we just don't have that plan in place at all yet. So the timing isn't right.
