Idk what an anti trader is. I’m a rams fan and I’m excited to see what Stafford can do for us.

Exactly! Jared in a Rams jersey is that dead horse we don't need more threads or comments on his time here. But they'll keep coming and in threads about moving forward with Stafford we'll get more of them as well. These same people that are loudest about everybody moving on with Stafford can't move on from Jared either. It's a fun game.

I don’t believe McVay really needs to retool too much, because of Staffords already proven leadership on the field. They have already clicked, this O is going to hit the ground running. I am pretty jazzed that we may have a field general who can finally decipher McVays awesomeness onto the field.

well I say John Robinson was a better coach at USC & that Pete Caroll is a The Better Coach in All!

The NCAA was unfair to USC & I wish George Allen was able to coach at least another season. West Coast College Football would be so much different than it is today.

weather we have today or not life goes on & history will tell the story weather it is true or not.It’s perspective
 
ya know just before the goff stafford trade i put in a post saying that i didn't think goff would be traded. all that talk of a trade was just to light a fire under goffs ass for next year. anyway it seems every year they surprise me with some move most don't think can happen. so next year expect watts and clowney to be on our d line and tryeek hill to be that deep threat every one wants. just kidding but i would not be surprised if they make some more moves most are not expecting

The open competition talk was totally intended to light a fire under Goff. The trade talk was from the media. McVay had no idea if he could get a better QB. Once Snead made the deal it was suddenly a moot point.

Not sure if it was posted, but espn had an article that had an interesting part about Stafford running into Whitworth hours before the trade was made...

"Stafford said he and Kelly were in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, when the trade occurred. Just before the deal, he ran into Los Angeles offensive lineman Andrew Whitworth, who joked to Stafford that the Rams would "make a run" at him."

You can refuse the best possible source we have if you choose, or you can be open to a different interpretation of the trade and listen. It was the best and most comprehensive discussion on the trade that you will find. One of them seemed to be against it and the other understood it. I'm hooked. Jordan is the most informed Rams reporter I've ever come across.

I'm not judging you man, but I'm curious if you recognize/intentionally used the very biased way you framed that. You set up the dichotomy of opinions as

1. People against the trade
2. People who understand the trade

The implication of your words being that if anyone doesn't like the trade they must not understand it. That may not actually be your opinion, but if you're getting more resistance than you want to it may be because you low key called everyone who disagrees with you dumb.

I wouldn’t care if the whole forum was against me. They practically were a few years ago over the fixed outcomes topic.

But to be clear, dumb is your word. I never said that. In fact if you read it that way I’d guess you were offended and wanted to interpret it that way. Instead I’d call those against the trade stubborn, after I provide a link to what many have been saying is the best source of Rams info that they ever heard or read, and they refuse to check it out.

I’m content to let them be angry about it. I tried helping them feel better about it.

Oh I wasn't offended. I'm not emotionally invested in the trade. Well, that and I've suffered far worse insults than an unintentional framing of a conversation.

The trade could go a lot of ways and a lot of that could have absolutely nothing to do with talent on the field, either by Goff or Stafford or the players around them. I just thought it was an interesting way you framed the conversation between those two people.

I just wanted to point out that the way you framed the conversation, that either a person would understand the trade or disagree with it. That sets disagreeing up as not understanding it. Telling people they don't understand something, especially when they are invested in it and have lots of information on it, is going to make them feel like you called them dumb.

I didn't have as low of an opinion of Goff as most of the people celebrating the trade. I also think the same things we'll need to do to keep Stafford healthy and successful are the things we had when Goff was successful: a stronger O line, stronger running game, and a real deep threat. Now maybe bringing back those things doesn't help bring back old Goff. Maybe they do. No idea. Maybe Stafford doesn't need those things to win a playoff game. Maybe he does. Maybe he gets them and the team still doesn't win a playoff game despite his best effort. Maybe they don't fix those things and we're successful or they don't and we're not. I don't know. I just don't have a good feel for what the team is thinking and the intricacies of Stafford's game. I thought they would have recognized they needed a better o line before last year. I was wrong. I thought they would have maybe planned some new plays to replace the ones we've seen fail literally every time they've been called in the last two years. I was wrong.

I'm glad that you can be super optimistic about the trade. You and a bunch of other people. It's better to be happy about it for a while and wrong than unfair for a while and any outcome at all. I'm sad that some people think the trade is a failure. I think looking back at the organization for the last 2 years, it's really bold to say you can predict what's going to happen or whether or not the trade was a good move. I just don't think there's a consistency of action over the last two years that shows they're making good moves to push the offense to the next level or keep it at the level it was in 2017/2018.
