I don't care how big of a macho man Peters is trying to be, you can watch that right there, and VERY clearly tell that Peters is hurt, and pretty badly. He cannot change direction at all!

I heard some analyst say the very same thing, he said MP is a guy who needs to be able to see the qb and use his speed to break on the ball. So, yeah, why are we trying to make him into something he’s not? I don’t think he has a pick since the Oakland game, and that one wasn’t even his guy, there wasn’t anyone coming into his zone so he jumped the route he saw.

Peters is talented but he drove Chiefs fans crazy taking chances, so why did Snead think he could play man? Was Talib that big a part of the equation? Was Talib even covering the # 1 guy?
The Saints are looking for wr help so they must not be too confident in the guys behind Thomas, you would think that teams would try to take him away and make someone else have a career day. It didn’t look like they were trying to bracket him.

So, what does this mean for the future, I assumed Talib was a 1 year situation with Peters assuming that role next year, now why pay Peters big money if he doesn’t fit?

Wade has to asjust and im sure he will, he's not a dodo. He has a rep for a reason. MP just has never learned the proper press technique needed for this. Talib will mlre than likely take their #1 guy and MP #2 when he comes back. Also it doesnt help the safeties in particular Joyner hasn't been playing great this year. Need to adjust.

I think everyone pretty much on target he is a route reader/jumper with those smarts then add his skill set that's what made him good Wade is not playing to those skills but either way I believe and have said multiple times that Johnson has been ok mediocre at best and to me Joyner has been crap . In KC he played with Eric berry so that fit his skill set jumping routes reading plays etc cause he could and would make those plays occasionally getting burnt but Eric berry was there to pick up the slack making perhaps a huge play smaller. Regardless of how we are using Peters we do not have an Eric berry to rescue him right now, our safeties have both been ehhh.
That's what makes the plays peters gives up not just chunks they are huge chunks nobody picking him up. It's possible he is playing his own game and safeties playing wades or the safeties just plain not good this year???? I still think with talib on the sideline he would say something or suggest whatever to reinforce wades system and get things right so who knows.

I may be wrong but Peters didn't have Berry in 2017 either. Berry played maybe one game I think. No there is more to this then just Berry. I do agree that our safety play has been bad

IMO, yes. . It is better than the stat you mentioned implies. My eyes tell me the Rams miss him as well. Washed up? Nope.

Ive read this entire thread and very surprised I havent read anybody notice the main problem with MP.

Its simple: hes not a press corner. Here in Wades D he plays man to man and his talents lie in playing offthe WR and reading the route/ play. Multiple vids will show this from KC to here.

Wade needs to adjust to MP's strengths because what is happening right now wont fly in the playoffs. Need to play Peters off with a cover 1 or 2 over. Kinda disappointed with the scheme we been running and its time to adjust after our first loss after its on tape.

Yea your right bud Eric Berry was injured last year but he had him in the previous two seasons and maybe KC noticed that between his antics and the no pro bowl safety his play wasn't as good and dumped him on us. I don't think his skills are gone however my point is he isn't being used correctly first and foremost but if your going to force your man to man etc then that makes him less of a player which we are seeing but then factor in tha our safeties have been less than good a sprinkle of no talib and there's a recipe for an alarmingly bad peters and overall a secondary. Peters numbers weren't terrible without Berry but perhaps the plays he was giving up were bigger like with us no body to save his bacon. Either way man it need to be figured out.....Dominique Rogers Cromartie out of retirement anyone???? Lol

His numbers definitely were good that year and nothing close to what they are now. I do think you guy's are right about him not being used properly right now. Definitely something is wrong and unfortunately it's not just him but Joyner too. I'll I can hope for now is when Talib comes back things get better. There is no money left and the trade line has passed. Either they fix it or they can't. I'll just keep cheering them on just like I have for the last 33 years.

It does. It's a mess at the moment. The DBs don't look like they know whats going on, the line is getting no pressure (apart from AD, intermittently) and we are still weak against the run.

I can't figure out what the issue is. We are no devoid of talent, but it's almost as if we are trying to fit square pegs (the players) in to round holes (Wades preferred scheme).
