Yeah, I suspect Limmer had issues with line calls through the year... it looked like Dotson would make calls at times.
Yeah, this is about much more than one play. Snead and McVay have implied that he struggled with line calls. And now there's a report that he wasn't even the 2nd string center, and instead was playing RG.

I'm starting to suspect that they don't feel Limmer has the mental capacity for center and the McVay's coachspeak wasn't in talking up Shelton, it was in disguising that they're down on Limmer.

Would be disappointing if true. Limmer is the most physically talented player we've had at center in a while. Would be a shame if he is still struggling with the mental side.

Eeeh, it's early in camp, I could see them cross-training but also I think this puts one more nail in the coffin of him starting this year.

He'll most likely still be our backup center... especially if Dedriech keeps snapping over the guys head.

Well, there is some validation as Shelton has a hard time standing up to a bull rush and has gotten pushed back often in his career.
This year is this year.....we shall see.
Well he started for the Bears. He did well & Mcvay coming out of OTA’s Mcvay said he was one of the players he was the happiest with.

The Rams scheme will be what is going to put The Rams in the best situation.Who freaking carries if he can’t handle some huge DT 1 on 1 ?
It’s more about picking up blitz’s,getting out to the 2nd level.Helping being able to help out & then switching off if needed for delay rushes or stunts.

I just say whatever people want to think & really don’t see the big picture.Having him in the O’Line group only helps the squad understand the system & being able to be make the calls on the O’Line.

Mattew Stafford really missed & likes the way Shelton snaps the ball.Which might seem weird, but he likes the LEFT HANDED snappier. That was just a comfort thing for him.

Validation? Go watch last season's Bears games, then you'll see why they didn't resign him.

Yeah sure - that’s why The Rams made a trade to get rid of there MISTAKE last season. Which tethers THE RAMS upfront.

How many of those games did you see. He totally controlled KOBIE TURNER !! A big reason they beat The Rams besides there other mistake last season signing another CRAP FA who they traded away & lucky they got anything for him.

Then we already know who is hold done that starting spot & helped The Rams almost go to the Superbowl.

Well as BubbaRam wants to keep thinking Shelton sucks, which I disagree with.Mcvay wants Limmer to be a Ram for a long time.

The best thing is for Limmer to cross train IMO.He isn’t like Shelton,Blythe or Allen. All those guys were TWINNERS,or small Centers & undersized Guards.

Having Limmer be SO strong & 6’5 315 let’s him become a nice swing C/G in 2025.

The big question is who else is going to be on The 53 on the O”Line. IMO there is going to be some big cuts.

The preseason with The Rams veteran depth is going to be a lot different than the past seasons.

^^^This

Except that we get one report that Puna is doing well and that somehow translates to Shelton sucks.
Yeah - it is always interesting some Fans outlook. If course I always drink the Kool-aide,but then again reality always hits at some point.

You hear what Turner says & it makes all the sense in the world.
There is also players who can evolve & compete.

The 2 players he likes & says will makes his season easier is Puna Ford who will give him a breather, a long with Tyler Davis.

Who has more joy in playing football for this team?

A. Puka
B. Cobie Turner
C. Verse

D. Everylastoneofthemboys

I’d say Mattew Stafford is the Real Deal !! Q. Lake is a wantabe. He does well as a leader in the backfield, but imo he is overrated.
-Not to try to try to be a hater.Coming into training camp the coaches are talking him up.I like him as a leader, but I also think he gives up to many plays.Hope I’m wrong, but during the season I’ll be extra skeptical of his play.

Looks quicker/faster than what we have. With these RBs all showing out, I don't think its wise to sign Kyren ASAP until we see how the year goes
This is TC, that dude that tried to strip the ball would of at the least held him up for a gang tackle if not tackled him all together. TC is good to get in the habit as a RB without the full on tackling etc. but I take little from this other than he is getting reps

Mentioned this in the other camp thread for yesterday. I read it the same way. Rams clearly do not see Limmer as a future Center. Because given what he would need to be doing right now, which is working hard on those calls, they would not be throwing him in there at Guard if they thought he had a future at the pivot.

So we'll see if this changes but for now this is an indicator that I had it wrong with Limmer. It's a shame I think as well, since I have wanted a Center who can hold his own for a long while now. But the mental side is the priority for this staff obviously and they must have decided Limmer's a meathead. :laugh2:
