Glad you see it for what it was......a collapse by the great NY Yankees instead of a dominating Dodgers team!!!! :laugh4: Just remember, we got you started on this repeat, three peat, near peat that you're on.

Good luck to you too. Hopefully we'll meet again for all the marbles.
I actually thought the Dodgers were just planning on winning it in front of their fans. But you guys were not gonna let that happen. :laugh4:

Dodgers have 8 games left. Division clinched. Now they're looking at a bye in the first round. 4 games ahead of the braves. The magic number to clinch a bye is 5. Win 5 and the Braves would have to win all 8 of their remaining games. Braves do have the tiebreaker.

Mookie's been slowly picking it up the last few weeks. Tucker too. It would be a good time for Tucker to break out of his season long slump.

Tucker and Diaz have been huge disappointments this year. But play well in October and all is forgiven. Diaz looked sharp last night. Fastball hit 98 a few times. Give him a few more appearances and maybe we can salvage something with him. But probably not in high leverage situations. The Dodgers had a 6 run lead when he came in.

Skubal had his worse game as a Dodger. 4 runs on 8 hits in 5 innings. But he gets the win against the hapless Giants. 7 games left. 4 win to clinch a bye. Or any combination of that and Braves losses. As bad as August was they surpassed last year's win total. Should end up in the upper 90's.

Milwaukee has the best record. And the best pitcher. But Dodgers probably have the best rotation. The bullpen sometimes scares me. Diaz came in. Waled the leadoff batter then two strikeouts and a popup. His fastball hit 99 a couple times. He might be returning to form. Got two strikeouts in an inning the night before.

SWEEP!!! Good series all around by the Boys in Blue. Magic number for a Bye is now 3.

You gotta think JDP will be on the Post-Season Roster. If nothing else he can come in a steal a bag.

Bubic looks like another find. I don't think he makes the NLDS roster (pending matchup's) but I DO think he makes the NLCS roster.

Will be VERY interesting to see what they do with Diaz.....

Diaz was sharper his last couple outings. Fastball hitting 99 at times. I wasn't sure he'd be on the playoff roster. Not sure if he'll be the closer but I think they should give him a good look this week.

They need any combination of 3 wins or 3 Braves losses to secure a bye. Not sure they can catch the Brewers for the top spot. But that's ok. Home field in baseball isn't as important as football or basketball.

Looks like Tucker might be finally breaking out of that season long slump. Mookie and Teoscar are heating up too. Looks like they might be getting that second wind. I was concerned about fatigue in August. Its gonna be a tough road to repeat. But its doable.

Dodgers one game from securing the second seed and a bye. They trail the Brewers by a game for the top seed. But its actually two games since the Brewers have the tiebreaker. That's ok. A bye is nice. They can set up the rotation the way they want. Set up the bullpen.

My best guess in a 4 man rotation would be Yamamoto, Skubal, Snell and Glasnow. Roki and Wrobleski to the bullpen. They can provide long relief if needed. Diaz is looking much better. I thought they might leave him off the playoff roster. I think the closer job is not settled. Might be by committee. Whatever is needed at the time.

The real question is what will they do with JDP. He has to make the playoff roster. What about Treinen, Diaz, Sheehan. Rest assured the front office is looking at ALL potential matchups.....

JDP qualifies for the playoff roster. But would they trust a rookie in the playoffs? I remember Bellinger in his first playoffs. Had a great regular season. Then pitchers figured him out and he was a strikeout machine.

I did like the way Diaz has looked his last few outings. Fastball hitting 99. I think he makes the roster. Maybe not as the closer. Or they see what he does in the 7th or 8th to determine that. It is a little worrying about the late relief. Scott has done ok. Much better than last year. But he's had his share of blown saves.

Cliched the bye, rest up for the NLDS. Who do yall want? Probably will be between the Braves and Phillies. I think id rather face the Phillies?

Hopefully it goes 3 games and the 3rd game is 27 innings.

Next week will be fun!

Great season for the boys in blue, now the next chapter!

Skubal and the bullpen shut out the Giants. Scott with the save. But the Giants are looking like a minor league roster. Never heard of most those guys. They got a long way to go if they wanna be competitive again.

I think our likely first round opponent will be the Braves. Sale is dominant. Whoever goes in that game will have to match it. After that our rotation is deeper. My guess is Sale will go Tuesday and won't pitch game 1 against us. Probably game 2.

AZ has climbed back in it. Them and the Phillies are battling for that last spot. I assume the Braves play one of them.

Been a few years since the last one. But I've been to some games there. Much better than Candlestick. Not as cold. But nothing beats Dodger stadium in the summer at night.
Dodger games get chilly at night too.

Every time I've gone it seemed perfect. But I always went in the middle of summer. I remember having a picnic with some friends at Elysian Park before a game. It was a Hollywood stars vs media stars game before the Dodger games. I remember seeing Kareem, John Ritter, Billy Crystal, Burt Convey and a bunch of others. Kareem and Burt Convey pitched for the Hollywood stars. I wasn't familiar with LA's media people back in the 80's. Billy Crystal was surprisingly good at short stop. Was a real fun night.

Yeah I went to a few Hollywood Stars nights in the 70s

Not sure who starts game one. Maybe Yamamoto then Skubal. Snell and Glasnow after that would be my guess. Milwaukee and Atlanta have the best pitchers in the NL with Misriorowski and Sale. But we have the deeper rotation for a longer series. Gonna be tough to threepeat either way. But doable.
