This is one thing that fascinates me is de-extinction for about 10 years now.

This CEO sounds like they got their shit together and AI is helping them map these ancient genomes.

That Rogan podcast that just came out is amazing and a good listen if you got time.

And what's to stop them from hunting the natural species themselves? They might not even want to eat the pythons and consider the gators easier prey. Or they hunt something else in the Everglades to extinction; there's a lot of native species that are struggling there thanks to environmental concerns.

They're dead for a reason. Let them rest.

It's because we allow idiots ( general population) to vote on these things instead of letting specialists who know how to effectively manage game populations and limitations being in charge.

It seems Dire Wolves have the same DNA of 99.5 of modern Gray Wolves. It seems that .5% difference is what they found in a few teeth and the petrous bone are where they found that .5% difference to actually map the genome 5 different times to effectively create the species again.
