How is he a big risk. Have you seen the numbers he’s put up as both a receiver and running back all the touches he has had every year the guy is a work horse and he’s top 2 in the game and for good reason.

Bell’s career high in rushing TD was 9 (Connor already has 10) and total TD was 11. Which is where Connor is right now.
Production otherwise is almost identical.
I guess it's just a generational thing. I remember a time when we loved the game and played it because it was fun. Good money was a byproduct then, but now...its become a demand and it's become the focus.
The contract offer from Pitt was an insult, But I would have played for the 14 and taken my talents to the open market without drama and bridge burning.
Oh...and anyone who complains to you about fantasy teams? They knew his status during the draft. The best drafts skipped right by him.

321 carries 85 receptions just last year isn’t that over 400 touches in a year. Lol I guess the hold outs only dumb because it isn’t you. Last I checked what you do on the field does matter that’s how you get paid. Which is why he will get paid.
We talking about rushing I think we can all agree that Bell just isn’t a running back he accounted for over half the teams Offensive production. Maybe that’s why their offense is doing better because it forces them to put the ball in other places maybe guys are finally playing up to their potential since Bell isn’t there and they know he’s gonna be the one to get the Ball. There’s not a GM in this league that wouldn’t take Bell. The only running back that’s safe is Gurley Elliot Gordon Hunt Karmora Chubb and Saquon

As for being highest paid RB? Sure a Cleveland or Jets May over spend but I think with all the red flags and now seeing the production in his absence have no drop off, I think it’s a buyer beware situation
And btw, Connor is right there with him in receiving too, avg 43 yds per game, which is exactly Bell avg
Bells average over how many years. I hate comparing running backs to other elite running backs when the consistency isn’t there. The problem with Connor is how do he respond next year or is he just a zack Stacy or Darryl Richardson.
Better yet let’s look at Malcom brown if Gurley gets hurt and Malcom brown fill in and he has the same ypc average same rushing average does that means he’s better or does it mean it’s the system. Eye test and film review would show you that the way they used Bell is different then how they are using Connor. It would should you that defense keyed on Bell in a way theyre not doing for Connor

Now, it's a small sample size (one season)... but that was all Bell had... he'll move on... he'll get paid... how much? The market will determine that.

I think Bell's holdout strategy is working fantastic, James Conner just got a huge raise.
It's a risk/reward decision. His decision to make and he made it. Same as AD. Though I don't believe it ever came out of his or his agents mouth, I'm pretty sure that AD would not have played under the tag if the Rams had tried to franchise him, and, if that happened, I wouldn't have blamed him. I would have blamed the Rams. Just like the cheap ass Steelers are 100% to blame, IMO, for Bell not playing this year with their relatively shitty contract offer. I think Bell not signing the franchise tag is a good thing for the league's players (particularly elite rookie RBs). If failing another drug test and getting suspended was a factor, the Steelers could have structured a contract offer that reflected reduced pay and future guarantees if it happened again. Going forward I think this will make teams more likely to try to reach a contract with their best players than to just assume they will play under the tag. It's one thing to franchise a player when you're not sure about them after playing one good season (e.g. Joyner, and that looks like a mistake now), and another to franchise a star player on their rookie deal, just because you can.
It's the guaranteed money that matters if you have a career ending injury. I thought the Steerlers offer was very low on the guaranteed. So much so that had he signed it and his career ended this season he would not have made much more than that tag amount. I could be wrong.
