There's no way that Leonard would get more than a 1 year deal. If he was released that means the Jags are paying him something this year, so he's not going to warrant a huge 1 year deal this season.

If he wants to come here, and he's in shape, I'd definitely consider it.

I assumed his salary wasnt guaranteed, but the plot thickens. If Jax is paying him 4 mill, then a 1 year deal might happen, be interesting to see if anyone claims him. For 4 mill (provided a team has the space) seems a no brainer. Surely brings back a comp pick if they dont re-sign him

"With the Jaguars waiving Fournette (and assuming there isn’t an eleventh-hour trade or a waivers claim made), his $4.167 million salary hangs in the balance. If he’s waived and goes unclaimed, a win in the pending grievance would mean that Fournette is entitled to the full amount of the salary, with no offset for money earned elsewhere. (The Jaguars routinely omit offset language from rookie contracts that are guaranteed for skill, injury, and salary cap.) If the Jaguars win, they owe Fournette nothing more. "

He certainly won't get a $4 million contract, since the Jags couldn't give him away at that price. My guess is $1.5 million on a one year prove-it deal.

Some possible landing spots:
  • Bears (If Monty is worse off than they are letting on)
  • Football team (Better than relying on AP to keep cheating father time)
  • Bengals (At least bring him in for a workout, that should cure Mixon's migraines)
  • Eagles (They have little depth behind Sanders, and he's already hurt)
  • Chiefs (He'd make a decent fill-in for Williams)
  • Falcons (Gurley's limping and Brian Hill hasn't shown much in his career)

The dude is a cancer and would be a locker room disruption. Why do you think the Jags voided his guarantees? Sorry but he's the kind of guy that plays when he wants and pouts when he wants. Waste of cap money. No team wanted to even trade a 7th round pick for him. At his point, he's viewed as toxic.

Would you say that about Ramsey and Fowler? Nah, Jacksonville is a shit organization from Khan, to Caldwell, to Marrone. I don't blame Fournette for his actions.

But at the same time, I don't want us to sign him. Akers, Henderson, and Brown are all more than good enough, and Fournette is both expensive and will probably want more playing than we can give him - therefore, going to a team that can give him that.

I wonder what percentage of leonard's yards were gained after contact. I say we roll with Cam. The only additions I would consider at this juncture would be a solid O-line vet, or inside linebacker that gets cut in a cost saving move due to a young cheaper guy with similar talents ..

I believe when he was suspended by the team for conduct a couple years ago, it technically voided his guarantees. They are going to be fighting over that money for a while.

My guess is that he's toxic at his current $4 million, but not at something closer to the vet minimum.

Getting cut humbles the biggest egos. Plus it would be a 1 year deal, no risk really.

This blows my mind, that no team would give up a 7th rd pick for a 25 yo RB who put up almost 1700 total yds. Guys that is as close to pre-arthritis Gurley production as we're going to get. I'm shocked that no team would take on $4M for that kind of production. There must be something just terribly wrong with him, for example AB like mental problems or something. W. T. F.

If not, then it just doesn't make sense that our team didn't already bring him in. With our garbage chute of RBs only saved slightly by the slim chance Akers could be an elite level RB, I just don't get how we aren't acting a bit more desperate (same goes for ILB).

I bet anything NE,SF, or Seattle will be all over this! Will be surprised if either one dont.

We can’t afford him.

He could be a very interesting option, but we don’t have the cap space to get him.
And Kupp and Ramsey are going to get paid, we just have to pray that Akers will showcase his potential !
