If we are relying on Allen, then wow, that's just idiotic. I know there's more time to make moves so I'll withhold judgement for now.
Nothing was said about relying on anything. He was simply asked a question about their rehab. Jourdan asked about factoring them in and he talks about analyzing things he sees from players. Watch the vid in the other thread.

I'm not asking about the video but this is more in reference with letting Shelton go. He was the guy who replaced Allen when he went down. Hopefully we aren't simply relying on Allen but since there is tons of time, I'm definitely reserving judgement. More so just giving my knee jerky reaction lol

It's too early to consider who we're going to be relying on, but I'd love to draft a Center only pretty high and a later round OG/C.

I totally agree with you there, just doing a knee jerk reaction splashed with I know we have more time to add to the o-line room.

I thought it might be tough to trade him
Yes, but even harder to replace him. A big physical edge who could get after the passer. When healthy an outstanding player. Key part of the D for the championship run. But Rams need to lose cap and get younger.

Now we need two edges. Snead and McVay have their work cut out for them.

If the goal is to get thru 2023 and go it again in 2024 - then why would we designate Floyd as post June 1st and push the dead money into 2024?!?

Wouldn’t the better route (if aiming for 2024 as JR has said) be taking as many hits as possible in 2023 and keeping 2024 as free from cap dead hits as possible.

We didn't let him go. He exercised his option to void the last year. Again that's in the video you can hear McVay talk about it

I see, my mistake on that one, but my knee jerk reaction still stands that I hope we aren't simply relying on Allen at center. I hope we can bring in some lineman, whether it be draft or FA, that can help shore up our depth as Allen is an injury waiting to happen unfortunately. Wish the guy could stay healthy for us as it would be a big plus but history says otherwise.

Peace Leonard. Thanks for your service and you'll always be a SB champ.

Time for someone new!

New CAP figures from Spotrac which include the Floyd cut. Wagner & Shelton still not accounted for.

Not a fan of this. Think we didn't get to the QB much last year? Wait til you see what we have now lol. Have no money for any FA's and might be able to acquire a ok edge at 36, but that means we won't be getting another position of big need. Not looking good at the moment.

Think 2024 at the expense of 2023. It will help us all sleep better this year.

We don't want to admit it, but our bill has come due. Think 2024 and beyond.
I'm just grateful we got the ring and Les and Co. is leading the charge for the next run.
To think we are built to contend next year is silly. And I am old:-)

No, no it won't! As you get older, you better not sacrifice the year in front of you for a maybe better year in the future. :wow2:
Not that I like it but as a Rams fan I’ve learned to endure dreadful stretches. I trust that the current organization has a plan but unfortunately it will not be fully realized in 2023. But since I’m such a Rams homer I trust it can be achieved by 2024.

Nah, as long as McVay is here they will be OK, barring catastrophic injuries like this past yr. Not that they will always be a SB contender, but they can win 10 games or more most yrs just because the league is so bad.

And I embrace what they are doing. They are being smart in changing the cap for 24' dramatically. So as Snead mentioned, between the upcoming 23' & 24' drafts, they will likley draft 20-22 or more players. With that new cheap labor, and an improved cap situation in 24', they will be able to add a some key outside FAs in 24', that could put them right back as a SB contender in a weak NFC.

This yr could be like the Eagles 21' season. 9-8, and a playoff spot. Then in 22' they were able to load up their roster a d went for it. That is the kind of 2 yr plan I am looking at while Stafford is still here.

Just need to find a rookie QB this yr to groom to at least be a bridge QB in 25'. The O' Connell kid, who they interviewed, looks very interesting. Good size, NFL arm, productive. GBN now has him in the top 120. Would be a nice addition.

I believe a Ramsey trade is still in play, wouldn't be surprised to see Higbee gone either. Whatever it takes, I'd like to see some additional 2'nd & 3'rd round draft picks added to our collection.

PR,
Great post.
Sorry if insinuated the Rams would be horsehit. As long as McVay/Snead are here, we'll be fine as you shared.
