The O.L signings are a little surprising.
Always strengthening that group I suppose
I really don't think so.

The five projected starters (if healthy) and Humphries are certain not to play on Saturday.

If projected back-ups McClendon, Limmer and Dedich also sit out; and, with Lampkin injured, that would leave just seven healthy O-Linemen ... Quessenberry, Leveston, McMahon, Bowles, Arcuri, Wedig and Dooley.

Couple of those seven guys might have a chance for the 53-man roster. Several are probably ticketed for the Practice Squad; and the Rams may not want to have them play significant snaps.

I think the signings of McAllister and Leglue are simply to have enough OL for Saturday.

Again could be, I just dont think you can evaluate the other positions groups fairly behind an Oline that is there just to fill out a roster as is being intimated.

I have to imagine there may still be players needing assessments but maybe not

Gotta believe they’d snatch Schrader if cut.
Or is there a trade upcoming?

Kyren Williams
Ronnie Rivers
Blake Corum
Marquez Hunter
Cody Shrader.

I’d think Rivers and Shrader are on the bubble. Could they get a late round pick (7th) for one or both?

Nobody will want Rivers. My bet is if the Rams move one of the RBs it will be Corum.
Just don't let Snead give him away for a 6th rounder.

Schrader is our biggest back. But also we could get a draft pick for a UDFA and that would be nice.

I mentioned this possibility a few weeks ago. To make it a good trade they’d have to get a pick close to what they used on him wouldn’t they?

I don’t think anyone offers that high of a pick, especially since he didn’t take off last season.

Yeah could be, porous o line play does expose other positions to injury but that could be it.
We will know Saturday
So you honestly think John Leglue was signed because he's part of the Rams plan on the OL? Just asking here because I'm not sure where you're going with this negativity about our OL.

What do you think we could get for him? I'm not too keen on the idea of moving a former 3rd round pick in his 2nd year for a 6th or 7th.

Relax, your perception of my negativity isn't accurate.
In fact our OL seems to be as deep as ever. The NFL has trimmed the pre season to 3 games. I am not a GM but also am not one to assume that 2 games is all that is needed to assess players on a relatively young team and young OL. Unfortunately these players that you say have no chance of making the team could create situations where injury is more likely and productivity isn't maximized, The loss of scrimmages against the Chargers further complicated evaluations, scrimmaging your own team only does so much good before that becomes an injury risk as well.
wasn't trying to irritate you to the the point of misrepresentation or at minimum misinterpretation of my concern that the offensive skill players have little chance of success behind subpar OL play

Our RB room is deep but I 100 agree, teams in need aren't looking for Rivers level of help. Corum maybe but return would likely still be lower than what his worth may be.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that they brought in some bodies so they could sit out the majority of the OL who will make roster. Not sure why anyone is reading anything more into those signings.
