Tutu Atwell- 10 mill for 2025 season, 3 TD over the last seasons
Kyren Williams- 11 mill for 2025 season, 3 TD in 1 game vs the 49ers last year alone
Atwell horrible contract is not something I'd use to back your guy..

The contract is what it is. I wouldn't have paid it but like everyone else here were right sometimes and more often than normal we're wrong. Just hope he earns it, not going to rehashed why I would have moved on from him.

Kyren is the straw that stirs the drink. This offense looks like hot garbage when he is not on the field. Well deserved, Kyren!!!

I think we needed a well earned contract extension for this team. After seeing Kupp leave, and Stafford's contract woes this offseason, it has got to be nice to see a good player get treated well. Does wonders for the culture here I bet.

I like him. But that’s too much money and too much guaranteed. I’d rather someone else pay that and we instead move onto the younger guys after this year. Sometimes we waste cap space unnecessarily (this, tutu, etc). Wish we were more frugal and smart with the cap and future contract outlays.
How many RBs did the Rams go thru before they found Kyren? No guarantee the replacements will be good enough. I think this is a good contract. Doesn't break the bank but rewards him. Frugal doesn't mean smart and I would argue that this team is one of the smartest in the league.

Not too much problem with this. It's not a huge contract, so it wouldn't fuck the cap if we had to get out of it, and it doesn't consume a shitload of the cap either. Decent money for the production we've been getting from him.

That's a great point. Hendo never lived up to what we wanted him to be. And Akers definitely underachieved given his athletic talent. Kyren has done more with less speed than Hendo and less overall athleticism than Akers.

I'm fine with this deal. I hope that he doesn't get as many carries as he got the last two years; we need to see more of Corum and Hunter (and I'd include Schrader in that category because I'm such a Mizzou homer), but it's a good deal for what he does.

Now let's kick ass!

Who said it's a horrible contract?
It's going rate for a FA WR who will likely be the 3rd/4th option
Kyren has been producing at a top 5 rb rate, and is getting a top 10 rb pay.
Dont be so emotional about it, this isnt about "your guy" its about the RB pay being entirely incongruent to the rest of the salary cap.
A team's top TD producer should be paid accordingly

Do not understand why anyone would want to move on from him.
For those who don't like the contract, what contract amount(s) would change your mind?

2 years from now it will probably look like a steal. He's high character, blocks very well and runs hard.

Not buying the fumbling issue at all. It's become a fucking "narrative", which I hate, and only exists because they came at such horribly inopportune times in the games. (Not that there's an opportune time).:laugh1:

Great signing.

BTW, I've not seen a lot from Corum that excites me (and I know he was hurt and had limited carries), and he'll probably turn out OK, but Kyren's a stud, knows the system and is only going to get better.

That might be the going race for a '3 wr but so far Atwell

Great signing. Put this issue to rest.
"Prove it" year? what else could he possibly need to prove?
An NFL starting RB who does all the little things right & scores TDs & gets you those tough 1st downs has to be worth it.
And all that with his 'slow' speed? He has to have something, right?
-it's not size
-it's not speed
-it's not shiftiness (though he's got some wiggle)
Where does Kyren's "main character energy" come from? as we all know: he has *elite* vision. And patience, LeVeon-like patience.
You need a tough 1st down? You're 1st & goal at the 3? He's almost automatic.
Well deserved.

I don't love it, but I don't hate it.
He is productive and reliable.. although the fumbles gotta stop.
We're going to see Corum and Hunter more.. and that's fine. You're not paying much at all for the entire POSITION group.. so, that makes it something I can really live with. Kyren is not just a player.. he's a leader and tone setter on top of that.

I want more explosiveness.. but having a reliable baseline as good as Kyren is fine by me.

I am very happy Kyren got the deal. Not sure why so much handwringing. The Rams have thrown away money a LOT worse than this great investment. Kyren is a light in the locker room. And a guys that won't just rest now that he has a contract....cough....JJ...cough. He will work harder if anything, and his mom will have to build a new wing on their house to hold all the balls Kyren hands her these next 3 years. And yes, some of this pay is reward for what he has done the last two years. But Kyren has a lot left in the tank.

The Corum/Hunter stuff will work itself out. My guess is Kyren's load is cut back a bit this year. One of the two emerge (I say Hunter) this year, and go 50/50 with Kyren next year, then Kyren is phased out and it becomes Hunter 70/30 with Corum in '27.

As for the fumbles, the beloved Dickerson had double digit fumbles all 4 full years he was with the Rams, (13, 14, 10, 12) and as great as he was, used to drive me crazy with his fumbling. Kyren -though a couple of fumbles have been killers- has great ball security, and it seems is determined to get even better.

We had some serious OL frailties during the Hendo era. Always felt bad because he didn’t have the frame to keep pounding out all his yards on his own.
