BWAHAHAHAHAHA. Quickness is one thing, and could be an issue (though often there won't be much room for Murray to avoid a rush). Do you seriously think a 5" taller DE would have trouble tackling a guy just because he's short? He's not Billy Barty short - any difficulty wrapping him up won't be because he's too short for taller linemen.
It’ll be much harder to get a grip on him in open space than it would be a much larger QB due to the much lower center of gravity like it was for all those defenders chasing Darren Sproles all those years.

This thread will be best revisited in 2024 - we should all have some idea about Kyler Murray by then...

Anyways, I’m done for the time being. Nice to talk you guys for the. I’ll visit frequently & if Kyler busts, I’ll be here to own up to it & eat crow. If he’s a star, I’ll make sure to let a few people know without overstepping boundaries. I hope you guys have a nice August & I can’t wait until our first matchup down the road.

All this hype about a fast QB with a strong arm. Reminds me of all the hype surrounding Michael Vick who was called a "generational talent". Hmmm Even he found out he needed to be able to throw from the pocket and look at the beating he's sustained in his career. You can't compare him to Wilson because Russell is equally adept at throwing from the pocket as he is on the move. Russell extends plays and runs only as a last resort.

Kyler is a one year starter who exploited his one stellar year into a #1 pick by a HC who has never been a HC in the NFL and had a losing record in the collegiate ranks. All this crap about hiding his 40 time and constantly pointing to a hand held time over 2 years old when he was lighter.....hmmmmm

His offense was quick read and run. Yeah he did his reads quickly because with the simplistic college defenses he could do that. So he did maybe two reads then either forced the ball or ran. People don't talk about how he threw only 8 TDs vs 7 INTs before his last season. .... hmmmm

Even Mahomes spent a year developing and acclimating to the NFL. If things go badly early for Murray it remains to be seen how he will handle it. Let's see what people are saying next year. Will it be praise or excuses.

No one that doesn’t have a caveman mentality calls Russell Wilson a “rushing QB”.

Actually, he's routinely called that. Only clueless mofos or clueless internet posters with an agenda don't acknowledge that he is a QB who rushes a decent amount of the time. And only people who know jack shit about the NFL don't realize that he is a rare exception to the issue that NFL QBs have with rushing a lot. You see, playing 16 games against the best defenders means that rushing QBs like Murray tend to get hurt. Not always the first season, but with rare exceptions eventually. Only fanboys and GMs frantic to keep their positions ignore those odds. Murray might be exciting, until he is broken.

BWAHAHAHA. Never watched football before? On a rare occasion he might slip out - he won't be facing the DBs from podunk state. He'll be facing the best players from his college career, who have improved. He may improve himself, but he will be taking serious hits as an undersized QB. Wilson has prospered - but the vast majority of undersized QBs who try to run and scramble end up under the surgeon's knife. Pay attention to the NFL, not just the Cardinals who are barely NFL.

I think height both helps & hurts. Sure, he’ll probably have to make more throws out the pocket than usual, but I can’t imagine being a 6’3+ DLineman having to squat down to get ahold of Kyler as opposed to getting to a big & easier target like Big Ben or Cam.
I guess it's going to suck for Murray having to play two games against the short Aaron Donald. Imagine how he is not going to have to get up on his toes to get ahold of a non 6'3+ quarterback.

I'm assuming it came from here. 8:00 min mark. He was asked about NFL defenses and he referred to the defenses that Kingsbury saw in college.

The Dunning-Krueger Effect. Looks like he's planted his flag at the top of the mountain. May he never come down.

He got slung around today...he’s tiny
He's gonna draw a lot of bogus roughing calls like the one he got yesterday too, because it looks violent went a big man tackles a small man.

Both roughing calls yesterday were absurd. We've all shoved our best friends harder than that after a good play on the basketball court or softball field...

Yep. I will say that i was surprised that Goff got that call. He gets roughed up with no call more than most QB's.
