I still think there is a pretty meh list of "top" QBs in this draft but some kids with real tools that could be pretty good after a red shirt year in the NFL with the right team. Hmmmm...... Right team. Who could that be?

I think with this group it's about finding the guy who has the traits you want but who won't require an overdrafting to bring him in. From there maybe he's a backup at best. Or maybe he hits after some buildup with this staff. But focusing on the traits, I think mobility is important, pocket feel as well, and so is having enough arm to hit those deep outs in this offense.

Simpson's gonna require a very rich investment in pick status. But the rest of these guys you can get mid to late rounds and park his ass on your bench and see how he develops. Worst case if you can find a QB2 that's great, then you go get your starter next year maybe in a better draft. Or you get lucky maybe. But it's worth the pick investment to take a shot on one of them, I just don't want an early pick used on QB this year.

I never watched Drew Allar but having seen the first two throws on Warner's take - he has horrible footwork. He bounces around way too much.

Even I, as an advocate for Drew Allar, was turned off my Kurt Warner's assessment. I thought there would be more football IQ and instincts on display from him. Granted he exhibited some but Allar certainly needs work. I'm curious why this kid never developed more of the fundamentals. Was it his own ego preventing him from learning technique from coaches or did his father surround his son with yes-men to cater to his son's sense of comfort for the sake of building up his confidence? This is where the interview process and background checks for me are really key with regards to his draft prospects.

Part of me is impressed that he's gotten this far on pure athletic ability, but I need to know if this kid was overly coddled with a desire to learn and will to improve or if he's a prima donna who has coasted on his physical talents. Or maybe he's just dumb as a post and doesn't know any better, which also wouldn't help his future outlook.
