Yes, the Rams have gone 4–1 in the five games that Cooper Kupp has missed this season since tearing his ACL in a Week 10 win over Seattle. And sure, their offense has averaged 31.6 points in each of those games. But if you look closer into the numbers, you can see that the Los Angeles offense, and especially quarterback Jared Goff, is not the same without the trusty receiver in the lineup.
With Kupp in the lineup, Goff was putting up MVP-level numbers and the Rams offense looked to be unstoppable. For reference: In the eight games this season that Kupp started, Goff had a 69.6% completion percentage, averaged 329.6 passing yards per game, had a TD to INT ratio of nearly 3:1 and was sacked 1.6 times per game. In the five games without Kupp, Goff’s numbers drop significantly—a 57.3% completion rate, 216.2 passing yards a game, a 2:1 TD to INT ratio and an average of 3.2 sacks a game.
Kupp was not the flashiest part of Los Angeles’s high-powered attack, but he was a crucial cog, and it seems the Rams are still trying to figure out how to replace him in their system. If they don’t figure it out soon, Kupp’s absence could have a significant impact for a team that had very real Super Bowl aspirations. — Ben Baskin

I believe it totally obvious to everyone that McVay & Goff are still trying to recover from the loss of Cooper Kupp in this offense. His value to this team was vastly underestimated. I sure miss him I know that. receivers Reynolds, Everett & , Pharoh Cooper have not filled half of Kupps shoes in his absence.
Has Pharoh Cooper totally forgot how to catch a ball thrown by Goff? His returns runbacks are below average. His hands appear questionable too. This is his Coopers 3rd season now what up with him. He had a ton of rest. He only has one season left under contract. Free agents WR KhaDarel Hodge & Jo Jo Natson look to have a better future here than the drafted Ram WR Cooper.

This began before the injury during the playoff game against the Falcons. He looked like a different player than he did during the regular season. On the positive side he's only 23 and it may be possible that he can be coached back to what he once was.
I'd like to think Kupp's absence is affecting Goff, but really Kupp was not around for Goff's stellar Kansas City game, so I don't think Kupp is the main issue. I think there's something else going on with Goff, and it's arguable as to what that is exactly.

KC has a bad defense. When a passing offense plays a good defense a guy like Kupp not being available is much more noticeable.
He’s definitely not contributing as we thought right now, both as receiver and returner.
I think he’ll be fine returning kicks, but if he can’t get reps at WR... I’d prefer Natson as the KR.
I think Kupp's absence is by far the most significant issue with the Rams' offense. In my estimation Kupp was not only playing at a Pro Bowl level, he brought a unique skill set to the table which neither Cooks, Woods, nor any of the younger receivers can really replace. Kupp has an unmatched ability to get open and make plays in a possession game, and an unmatched timing and trust with Goff. It was the combination of unique skills from all three top receivers that made the passing game take off and the possession game unstoppable.
I think we will see next year and beyond that Kupp is a great receiver in his own right, with some skills possibly unmatched by anyone, and who will be increasingly recognized as such.
Meanwhile, McVay and Goff have to figure out how to make the passing game work with the guys we have.

I think we will see them go to Everett and Higbee in the situations were Kupp was counted on. I also believe Pharaoh Cooper can be a productive receiver in the NFL if given some more snaps.

I feel badly for Cooper. The kid was so important to our offense that he should wear the Super Bowl ring with pride, because he was part of making it happen. Yet, how unsatisfying must it be to be on a team for two years that went to the playoffs and never got to play in the games at all?

I do love this kid and hope he fully recovers and is back ASAP. One of my favorite players to watch for sure
