Game should be defined by the offense failing to finish drives. McVay has had problems for a long time in the red zone and in finishing drives this isn't anything new but it has to be corrected. I said it many times in the vent thread if you think you can go on the road and win vs teams like Philly and kick 6 FG's you aren't paying attention.

This is obviously negative Nancy time right now but those kickoffs are absolutely deadly.

I don't know how Karty does it, but having a kickoff that is basically impossible to field is going to be one of the biggest stories of this season for us.

The knuckle ball. Hopefully he keeps it going.

I might add failure to convert 3 downs, especially the deep shots on 3rd and short.

Every rams fan and even the announcers were questioning the call from mcvay. If you know you have have two downs to get two yards why throw a very low percentage throw on 3rd down, and then leave your banged up oline in a bad spot on 4th and 2? It defies logic

He does this a lot too, it’s one of his big weaknesses. He really needs to get past this to take the next step as a coach, as good as he already is.

Karty's kickoffs are a weapon for field position. But I gotta wonder, Did practicing those low kicks affect his field goal kicks? Subconsciously kicking lower than before? I don't know what the problem is, but its something they gotta fix fast. If blocked kicks continue to be a problem we're gonna lose more games.

This could be true, that was discussed in other threads. Not sure, but if the kicks are low, they need to make the adjustment pronto and as I have posted in other threads, it is time to cut ties with Beaux Limmer.

If I could choose 1 moment in the game to alter ever so slightly, its that first slant to Adams in the endzone. It was less then a 10 yard throw but Stafford airmailed it. Adams had his guy beat and just needed a average to below average throw and we score a TD rather then have to kick a FG. I'm not asking for much here.

I've actually wondered... for years... why Karty's knuckler wasn't something coached and attempted before.

I've played a lot of soccer in my life... hitting one of those isn't easy.. but it's something you can get somewhat consistent at. I always felt it was something that would make returning a kickoff very difficult. It just doesn't have the same hang time.

I was thinking the possibility of the kickoffs affecting his field goals. As a golfer I noticed things I practice and affect my muscle memory with the swing. If I spend too much time with the driver it changes the iron swing. Its gotta be a balance.

If Karty spent a lot of time changing his kicking method for kickoffs it could cause the lower kicks without him knowing it. He's gotta get back to kicking the ball high enough to clear all those hands trying to get a piece of it.

Of course if its the blocking they either gotta coach them up or make a change in personnel. Blocked kicks a couple times a year happens. But 3 times in two games? That has to be corrected.

I put zero blame on Karty. He is the reason we were in the game until the end. He was delaying his FG kicks at all. He was quick with it, we just didn't block. Shame, he shoulda had 6 on the day. No excuse to allow that
