I think I am a no.

Super talented. But he’s a handful, and I’d steer clear of that.
Completely Agree.

In the right system, with the right coaching, he may flash but it may be short-term and with distractions.

Here in NYC, Toney made it clear he preferred to be called by his rap-name ... Yung Joka

Got the impression, he cares about the entertainer part of his life a little bit more than the football part. When he says 'we not me' he means it but the 'we' are Karadius Toney and Yung Joka.

Kind of like a Cooper Kupp or Robert Woods ... just the complete and total EXACT OPPOSITE.

Not sure LA would bring out the best in him, either. New York has it’s own temptations, but this guy seems like its a matter of time before he’s a headline on TMZ.

... this dude would fit so well next to Kupp and ARob,
He's a major talent for sure but everyone would see the ball less ... Toney is the most likely to complain.

Now a trade that might make sense would be Samuel to the Giants for Toney and NY's 2nd round pick (#36). New York would have to create cap space but they will need to do that anyway just to sign its draft class.

Unfortunately for Toney, McVays disciplined stance on placing the same importance on neck up as he does neck down…maybe even more…means he is not Rams material…not yet anyway.

Pros: ... but, but, but he's the next Gale Sayers, the next Barry Sanders, the next Dante Hall, all rolled into one!!!

Cons: ... but, but, but he's the next Tavon Austin, the next Deebo Samuel, the next Hickory Dickory Dock, who in the hell can stop the Clock!?!

Jefferson is a decent WR who may never get past being any teams #2 or 3, he's also quite inexpensive for now, but he does have his limitations. In 2021 VJ had Stafford throwing to him, accumulating 50 receptions while being targeted 89 times, and a 56.2% catch ratio for his second year in the league. Jefferson went 19 out of 31 for 220 yards and 11 yards per reception as a rookie.
Toney is a potential future #1WR, had 3 different QB's his rookie year who were all pretty bad with the NYGmen, still had 39 receptions out of 57 targets, a 68.4% catch ratio and averaged 10.8 yards per reception.
I take Toney all day long.
I am not a big fan of the Jefferson selection. I feel McVay was Lucky that he got a solid #3 out of him last season. Your statement of "he's also quite inexpensive for now" is key here. If he does not improve in the overall development of his skills this TC & preseason then he might be lucky to be active by the end of the season.

Rams have let a #1 WR OBJ know they want him and offered two contracts already. Is Jefferson going to put OBJ on the bench? Or will Jefferson send Robinson or Kupp to the bench?

Snead also has two very speedy recent young draft assets waiting in the wings with Atwell 4.33 40, the 6’5, 219 lbs Harris 4.39 40 plus tough blocking receiver Ben Skowronek. In addition there KR/PR Brandon Powell who will be active for all regular-season games.

My position is McVay will want badly to have some deep speed on the field in order to give Robinson/Kupp the needed area of the field to do their specialties. Jefferson has some serious work ahead of him.

As per usual, we pretty much agree. I see Jefferson as good trade bait for his 'contract' year in 2023, and he'll have most of this season to build on his numbers & craft. If the Rams re-sign Obj, there is little reason to keep VJ around next year, it also makes Kadarious Toney overkill at a position where someone is likely to become upset with a lack of targets. Toney only makes sense if Obj doesn't return and McSnead feel they can make it work. It will be a fun battle to watch for the WR4 position with Atwell, Harris & Skow, and depending on the upcoming draft, Powell could get some serious Special Teams competition coming from another position in camp.

I’m curious as to why anyone thinks the Rams would/should trade for Toney. I get there isn’t much to discuss so this talk fills the gap but:
1) He’s a first round pick so he won’t be super cheap.
2) He’s failed impressing a team that desperately needed playmakers.
3) The Rams have several other pressing needs that could be better served by a trade or a FA pickup after the draft (and no comp picks subtractions).
4) Rappers gonna rap. Players gonna play. Make a choice and commit.

1) He's cheap in that he's a 1'st round talent with 3 years remaining on his rookie contract, and whichever team gets him will also have a decision to make whether they want to exercise his 5'th year option for a potential 4'th year.
2) We don't know that as far as his playing time is considered. Playing with 3 bad QB's in one season makes it tough to build chemistry for a rookie, and yet he still had 39 receptions out of 57 targets and a 68.4% catch ratio.
3) While true, this doesn't mean you dismiss other opportunities which pop-up unexpectedly.
4) I don't care if he raps as long as it's not a distraction to the team, still, this debate will go silent once Obj is re-signed.

Greg Robinson was cheap too... didn't make it smart for any team to trade for him.

Sometimes you have guys that just don't get it. You would have to do an extensive background check on him... and then some, to even consider it.

Van Jefferson played with him, so he should have an idea as to what makes him tick, but his mindset has to be evaluated and it would have to be a slam dunk (no past issues) to deal for him.

Hardly a good comparison with Robinson who was a complete bust with the Rams, and the trade only cost Detroit a 6'th. Toney actually had a decent rookie season when you look at what he dealt with.
My previous post which you are quoting from only deals with his on field performance, not whether he has an unsalvageable personality disorder that none of us are really privy to at the moment.
I've already stated that if Obj were re-signed that any further Toney obsession would soon die a quick death, so I'm not expecting him to become a Ram, although for sheer talent at his position I can easily accept the speculation some have shown.

Those will be bargain prices for whoever picks him up, following an extensive head examination.

Yes sir.

If it's possible to get his mind on being a professional football player, he would be a major bargain for any NFL team.

Lots of questions about this talented headcase.

Does he need a therapist?
Does he love rap more than professional football?
Does he love money, and would he actually change his priorities playing for a new NFL team?

With the current salaries for WRs, that's chump change if he works out. Anyone signing him is obviously taking a risk. Not saying we are signing him but didn't they say Ramsey and OBJ were head cases? Gotta give the young man time to possibly mature. Anyone questioning him wanting to be a rapper and linking it to failing in professional sports shouldn't go there until he fully proves that. There's a guy that goes by Damian Lillard that raps and I heard he's pretty good.

He can love both rap and football. The big question is can he focus on football when the time comes? That's the multi million dollar question lol

Wasn't that one of the issues with Greg Robinson? I remember reading he spent more time learning rap lyrics than learning the playbook.
