I didn’t know Rath had a mild stroke.
For most of us, it's hereditary. I had my TIA at 35. Great shape, walked 4 miles a day, worked out 3-4 days a week. Mini-stroke, aneurysm, and a full recovery, but now on a statin (similar to Lipitor) for the rest of my life. The statin shouldn't affect or impair anyone's judgment when combined with alcohol intake. If that was his defense, he will not be employed in the NFL for much longer.

My take on his situation is the NFL will conduct their independent investigation similar to Zeke and Lamar. Meanwhile the Rams should do their due diligence and send Ted to Sexual Harassment Prevention classes and perform their own investigation to CYA.

Due to the Rams and the NFL's potential liability of scarring Ted's employment history, I don't anticipate a decision until both organizations have fully vetted this situation. I suspect paid leave for Rath while they investigate.

Just a guess, but I suspect Rath will keep his position with the Rams.

Not sure what further “investigation” is for, since the woman has already told her side of the story, and Rath says he was so bombed he doesn’t remember.

I predict Rath will apologize repeatedly to everyone, and the Rams will not terminate him since he was found not guilty.

I don’t know, a guy drunk off his mind getting too handsy who stops once the girl says something to him deserves to get a broken nose, black eye, and maybe a concussion. Not sure they deserve to be labeled a sex offender. There’s a thin red line there. Hard to say where he should fall if true.

I haven’t followed this case closely, but based on the little I’ve read, I’d agree with this.

IMHO, guys like James Winston and Ben Rapelisberger are monsters who should rot in jail.

OTOH, from what I’ve heard about what Rath did, he deserved to be kicked out of the house while people yelled at him, “Get the fuck outta here you drunk dumbass!”

Again, haven’t followed the case closely, but it sounds like Rath was being monumentally stupid while under the influence, as opposed to being ‘predatory.’

.

i couldn't imagine touching a woman unless she was reciprocal to the idea. how do all these guys do it? i think the problem is they have no respect for women. there can be no other reason.

.

Most often when a guy rapes a girl, or gropes her, there is hope that at some point she will start to like it and actually get into it and reciprocate. I don't think this was the case though.

It's possible Rath is an oversexed dope. He knows this woman, has seen her on several occasions, he thinks she's hot, so he throws out a compliment on her appearance to let her know that he's interested. She acts flattered and he takes it as mutual interest. So then he's at the party without his wife, maybe he talks to her before she goes upstairs, and in his drunken state convinces himself that she was hinting for him to join her. So he wanders upstairs for some fun. Only to find out that his compliment didn't mean anything to her and she was never giving him any indication of wanting to sleep with him.

I knew a guy like that. He was so stupid when it came to women and he misconstrued simple conversation as signals often. He was so horny and uninhibited about it that we made fun of him all the time.

On the other hand my college roommate would black out often when he drank. He'd wake up and urinate on the wall or table and have no recollection of it. It got to where I would not sleep if he was too drunk because I was afraid he'd per on me. It was weird because he'd be talking to me while I would try to wake him up and often steered him toward the bathroom. He'd even be aware of what I did and would thank me for keeping him from peeling on the furniture. Then the next day he'd say I was full of it. To this day he doesn't think he ever did it. He didn't need to do any drugs for it to happen, just beer.

Either way Rath is an ass because he's married and shouldn't be entertaining thoughts about having sex with another woman, much less pursuing it. He also has a dream job that he risked losing because he has the hots for someone. He deserves to go to jail or be fined. The sex offender label is a tough call though. If he actually thought she was interested then that's not predatory. If he didn't care if she was interested, then that was predatory.

* A Not Guilty verdict doesn't mean proven innocent, but we have no certain way to really do so unless there are multiple relible witnesses to the incident. This did not happen here.
* IF the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty, then what happens when he is not proven guilty?
No one ever proves innocence. No such thing. They prove they're not guilty.

He's innocent, since he was proven guilty. Simple as that!

That was my point. He has the presumption of innocence, so how can he lose that with a not guilty verdict?

Awesome post had all kinds of oversexed guys in the military and the drunken states were outlandish, in fact, that is the very reason when I'm out I only have two drinks, they made fools of themselves and felt every girl wanted them I stopped many misunderstandings and telling guys "No, she really is not interested."

That's why I tend to be on the side of the victim, seen it hundreds of times...Rath knew he was on medication and should have not drank at all, bad judgment that led to offending somebody and although the punishment might not fit the crime, something happened and Rath is the reason it did.

You cracked me up about the stupid oversexed guy, we had this one friend that we called "Bogie" because of his old lines he used...."Hey baby" Here's looking at you kid and so on all of us would just roll our eyes and laugh out load, his name was Joe and I would say to him "Get back Jo Jo." And that's why watching Jo Jo Natson amuses me.

He hasn't, as far as I can say.

If someone asks you, "are you guilty?" the reply is usually, "no, I'm Innocent!".

I worked in the prison system for 20 years. No man ever admitted guilt there. There were all innocent.

I also worked in a women's prison. They usually admitted they were guilty but it was more like "Yeah, I did a little of that but I don't deserve to be here".

If a company, particularly one like a sports org, fired everyone who cheated there would be virtually no one in the building.
Some common sense has been drummed out of the legal system (it seems) by career hungry prosecutors (gotta chase that conviction %, truth or fairness be damned) and self indulgent attorneys if all stripes.
Guys getting on the offenders list because of taking a leak in public. Stupid shit.
So it goes.

ever heard about a woman scorned? hell hath no fury
train
No shit man! smh

I'm totally for taking punishment for being a dipshit but lessons learned from that scorned has made me very wary of women in my mid to later years.

My friend was Donnie and he didn't know how to talk to women at all. He got by on his good looks and muscles. I'll never forget one night he was really hot for a girl that none of us knew. He was always getting laid so we refused to help him out. He had no idea what to say to her, so he finally gets the courage to go over and says exactly what he was thinking, "You have really nice tits." We all laughed out loud. She didn't receive it well. He was so used to girls throwing themselves at him that he was actually angry that she blew him off and called her a bitch.

I don't disagree with you on that. I know two people on the list and neither did anything wrong. One guy had a girlfriend for three years. She was two years younger than him. He was 18 and she was 16 when he decided to break it off. She suckered him into goodbye sex and then told her Mom that they had been having sex. They went to the doctor for evidence and he went to jail and was added to the sex offenders list.

Another friend was falsely accused by his mistress of rape. He was married, and had an affair. He broke it off but she kept pursuing him. He said the sex was incredible and one night drinking he went back to her room. They had sex and then he told her it was the last time. She locked herself in the bathroom and called the cops. She ruined him for leaving her. His wife left him too.

Rams Strength and Conditioning Coach Ted Rath Found Not Guilty of Sexual Battery

hi-res-196f5c6a8fcc2c29e733cd2dddc18058_crop_north.jpg

Los Angeles Rams strength and conditioning coach Ted Rath was found not guilty on three counts of misdemeanor sexual battery Friday.

According to ESPN's Lindsey Thiry, Rath was arrested in January after a woman he knew told police he touched her "against her will on intimate parts of her body for the purpose of sexual arousal and gratification" in Moorpark, California, on June 15, 2018.

Rath has been on a leave of absence since his arrest, and he was not with the Rams for their NFC Championship Game win over the New Orleans Saints nor their Super Bowl LIII loss to the New England Patriots.

Following the verdict, the Rams released a statement: "We are aware of today's verdict. Now that this trial is complete, we will revisit Ted Rath's status. In addition, we will continue to assist the NFL as it completes its separate investigation."

Former Rams and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was among those who testified in the case.

The 35-year-old Rath will enter his third season as the Rams' strength and conditioning coach in 2019 if he is reinstated. He was previously an assistant strength coach with the Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions.

Rath could still face discipline from the NFL, which issued a statement on its own investigation: "We've been monitoring developments in the matter which is being reviewed."

Yep.
It’s a very useful tool but, like most tools in the legal system, can be misused.

Don't be too offend maybe its was just a poor choice of words .At least I hope so. Its my understanding rape is more about power and domination. There is probably a segment of neanderthals out there that believe that very thing though.
