I expect a backup center/guard to make the squad too. Allen is likely the center of the future and could handle it now - but a game day active reserve needs to play multiple positions, and I don't think Allen is ready to backup guard.

I dont see Allen active on the 46, unless during the season Sullivan or Blythe are inactive. Do think he is the future Rams starting C. Just needs time to develop. Sounds like he has the intelligence to start at C.

A 4th round pick who is ALREADY better than Greg Robinson ever was. ::)

Glad McVay and Snead tapped into an unsaturated market for linemen who have solid athleticism but are excellent between the ears. Wouldn't be surprised if he surpasses Whitworth by year 2; our coaching staff's development process is night and day compared to two years ago

I'm having a hard time keeping myself from gettin too geeked up on these rook linemen. The idea that the Rams could hit the lottery on a 4th round pick and nail a LT of the future is so unlikely that I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. But he's better this week than he was last week. Sooo... Yeah.

Gonna rewatch the game with a little more eye on the OL. But coming away from the first run through albeit at the bar I continue to be surprised by the fact these guys are showing so well so quickly. Allen really looks solid out there, and I didn't think he'd get much play at Center in his rookie season due to the line calls but he's out there doin it and holding up very well at OG too.

Again gotta queue up the game again because there was a LOT of good in this one for us.

Maybe the reason that you weren't expecting a Rams rookie Olineman from the 4th round to perform well is because you are sick. I had the same problem and my Dr. has narrowed it down to two possibilities; Loneyitis, or Boudreau syndrome. They are both very serious illnesses. My doctor said it could take several seasons of a very good OLine coach for the symptoms to finally subside. His prescription was an amazing drug that he calls Winacyllin.

Although a daily dose of Kromergentics increases vitality while enhancing your decision making process.

i was able to rewatch the game just now.

Demby’s mishaps were at RT. he is just not quick enough to handle faster DE’s.

i think he can have a nice Career
at guard as he shows power and uses his wide body well, but he will
need a little work on his hand engagement.

Noteboom looks like a seasoned Veteran with his quickness and technique, i can see him getting the start at RG while brown is out.

Allen is able to get push and is quick afoot as a guard shooting to the second level but needs a lot of work in pass protection and may never see starting time as a Ram as his pass protection has so far to go.
With the starters playing preseason #3, it would be interesting to see NOteboom at RG--I know J Brown is healthy, but they need to get some game cohesion.

And,maybe even MORE interesting to have Noteboom at LT in place of Whit for this weeks game against Texans.

The Rams usually dress 8 OL.
With Noteboom they have their T depth, along with Saffold.
I would be surprised if Blythe and Allen weren't dressed game day with Noteboom.
Don't really see anyone else jumping out.

I was thinking of the overview of what the Oline does......Complete understanding, maybe?
Apparently too few words.

Yep, I think that's what he means by easier at the same time. Harder because he has to learn all the different roles and techniques, but easier because he has a greater understanding of the big picture of what the OL is trying to do.
Come on jrry. You need to have @Mackeyser show you how it’s really done and extend this by two paragraphs. :sneaky:

Just messin with you Mack.

I think there is a real possibility we hit a home run with Noteboom. Guy interviews are really encouraging. Looking forward to see seeing these rookies of this year develop compared to last year.
