I meant Olson, mistakenly said Shurmur.

I don't think Kromer is an OC in waiting, unless it is a Fisher scheme with a run game OF and a pass game OF.. LaFluer is the OC isn't he? I think Phillips is done with head coaching, Fassell was an interim coach and STs. What are his qualifications? I don't know, but if he gets offered a position coach spot, is that really a step up? I don't think any but Olsen are likely.

But, the topic was Gruden stealing Rams coaches. I don't see why it would be so much of a lure to make a lateral move to coach with Gruden. For one his legend outweighs his reality. Two the Rams could block lateral moves. Three the Rams have a good team/family environment, where Gruden had dissension on his Tampa team. Just don't see it.
Nvm you don't seem to get the jest of any part of my posts! lol

LaFleur and Wade would more than likely be the only ones that get a HC interview but with so many new HC staffs they are going to put together 8-12 new crews and that creates a ton of potential for our guys to be given a bigger opportunity.

I never said it's going to happen for sure but it is a fairly decent possibility.
I thought you were joking about Wade.
No way he interviews for an HC job. He’s 70 years old and we’d be lucky if he’s DC for 2 more years. And Lafleur is probably the hottest commodity however he’s been only a qb coach and doesn’t call plays as OC for Rams. I guess anything possible though.

Kromer coached under Gruden previously. Of all our position coaches, Kromer is the one I'd least like to lose.

And the Rams would have to grant permission and they won't. Teams might reach out for OC, but I really don't think so the only member of the staff with major positions that could be lost is Matt LaFleur IMHO and I believe he is still a couple of years away.

LB and Assistant Head Coach Joe Barry will most likely not get another shot as DC because of his failures in Detroit & Washington, IMO, the staff is very good and because the Rams have a veteran coordinator and three time former Head Coach like Phillips combined with an OC that does not call plays and has limited experience I believe the staff can stay intact for a few years.

Do many lifelong OLine coaches become OCs? Does he have any background calling plays, or creating an offensive passing scheme? Kromer to OC sounds like a Boras move

Yes, and the ones who are smart enough end up being quite good. Andy Reid for example.

Kromer's not only smart, but he's got experience designing run game concepts and working under McVay makes him an obvious OC hotlist candidate. IMO.
