"Work so hard"? "Say so much"? "Spend so much time"?

It really doesn't take much work, words or time to understand he's just like 29-30 other NFL backups. Not good enough to be a starter and lucky to hold an NFL roster spot. What amazes me is how far some folks will go equating 4 field goals against Arizona as some kind of sign, we're set at backup QB. McVay likes him? Sure he does. What's not to like? An undersized kid with a lot of moxy. Might as well hand him a mirrror. There are hundreds of those guys who got a cup of coffee in the NFL and then used their college degree to get a job at which they can really excel.

And for what it's worth, Wolford isn't even an "average player".
Wow you guys really are passionate about the efforts, or agenda, or whatever the fascination is. Here, again, so many words used to make a point thats so useless to make.

I dont care one way or the other. Its a backup quarterback discussion

Have at it boys. Enjoy the crusade.

It wasnt a dirty hit, Wolford mistakenly went down head first, and Adams lowered his shoulder. Truth be told, he could of done worse
I think it was a dirty hit on a Rams player. Maybe I’m too much of a homer. Either way, that’s coachable and I’m sure also something he doesn’t want to experience again.

He got injured on the Seahawks 20 on the Rams second possession of the game in his second start.. in the playoffs, on the road.
Not sure how you make any conclusions on that.
Oh, and it was a dirty hit. Do we just ignore that?

I don't get it.
Freaking A-holes that don’t want to look at the play in full. There is one main reason why Wolford got hurt.Just follow #89.

Anyway, just watched some Rams talk & had 1 beer.Cheers! Fired up!! Only because I know more than most.Anyone that want to follow my response can question or rebuttal. Will try to be constructive.

Demarco probably said it best & I will be the 2nd to question him.Have to respect him as a person & his Life Travels as & before(during)him as a Ram.He always brings solid opinions, just won’t always agree.

What he said was don’t think Wolford lost his backup role & basically wtf Perkins is on the roster.JB or MJD might have had a good follow up.

They talked about what Perkins might mean to a team who runs Mcvay’s offense in Seattle as Russell’s backup.

Well imo I think Perkins does have more upside & yes I can see them releasing him. Then again I have no clue,my question in a 53 man roster was to a (fake) Bears Fan. Who didn’t know if Mick Foles made it as the 3rd QB,especially if you don’t like Andy Dalton.
Foles won a SuperBowl & cost draft picks.I think that is a far question on teams rosters if teams go 3 QB’s.
I’ll stick with The QB & Wolford. He looked good in training camp & really knew the offense. His footwork is better than Stafford’s,but there is no comparison on who is the elite QB.He just gets back quickly & starts with his reads. He also gets the ball to the RB nicely. He totally lacks size & has trouble seeing certain routes very well.

There are those of us who support both of them.
Differentiating between the two and thinking that Wolford is better isn't not supporting Perkins. Pointing out Wolford did his work in real games is something.
And.. if you really want to go apples to apples... Wolford has thrown a lot of better balls in preseason games than Perkins.
That's not dissing Perkins, that's pointing out what Wolford has done.
Saying Perkins is better than, or going to be better than Wolford is being construed as negative for Wolford. Not sure how that supports both. The embellishment of Wolford's "work" and defense of him is mind boggling. He handed Arizona 7 points (their only points in the game), could only muster 9 while his defense scored 9. Oh and ST saved them from scoring another 3.
And I' m not sure how one could say apples to apples with a straight face comparing a pre-season prior to Covid, to one currently dealing with.

It wasnt dirty, that's why they picked the flag up.
Like what was said previously, Wolford's game was so limited, it was going to be reliant on his legs. And Seattle was all over it. Getting knocked out of the game wasnt the worst outcome, the Rams were fortunate it wasnt a turnover.

Wait… what about COVID and preseason performances?
Please, explain that to me.

You think that's bad? You should have seen the fan base against its own starting quarterback.....

I guess I'm just confused that supporting the 3rd string QB isnt acceptable, that the 2nd stringer is untouchable?
Weird....
So I always thought that those fighting so hard to make Wolford be mediocre, and make sure the whole world knew it, were simply those trying to prop up Goff.

But Goff is gone now, so thanks for bringing him up. The new quarterback wont, as far as we know, be part of a “who should play” debate. So in essence, there exists no real to continue to drive the point home that Wolford is so average.

I mean, what do you all wanna do, keep his ring after we win the Super Bowl?

Maybe all these keyboard coaches who have found so many flaws in Wolford's game can get a e-mail or something to coach McVay and let him know how pitiful our QB2 is and disregard what he sees in practice everyday.

I got through two pages of this thread and that was enough. Really, who gives a shyte about the back up QB's? WE HAVE a brand new franchise QB in Matthew Stafford. I believe the dude is going to lead us to the promised land of Super Bowl trophies and MVP's. IF he goes down, we might as well get set for the 2022 NFL Draft, because Wolfy or Perkins isn't going to win the Super Bowl for us...ever.

Would have absolutely loved to have seen Wolford play in the preseason, as that (hopefully) will be his only chance to actually get some game time against live defenses this year. I liked what I saw of him last year, but that was a small sample size. Really not sure what we have in him but am encouraged by what little we got to see.

I'm actually hoping to see a lot of Wolford in mop up roles after heading into the 4'th quarter with 30 point leads. jmo.

Since Xavier Jones got hurt we can't argue who should be the #3 running back any more between Funk and Jones so we had to find something to argue about :giggle:

It wasnt a dirty hit. What part of that do you not understand?
Or do you just ignore the rules because you like Wolford?
Yes, the Rams had a drive going when Wolford got his ass knocked out. They had driven 50 yards and Akers had 32 yards on 4 carries. I guess you give Wolford all the credit for that too?

Who are you arguing with? Yourself?
I could give a f$ about the former QB, why must you always talk about him?? You've got to move on
