If Aaron Donald was on Williams team he wouldn't need to blitz 7 guys to lose the game.
Two DC’s later , Aaron Donald continues to improved a lot.

There was definitely no need to apologize. The Hippo is the most dangerous animal in Africa. Awesome nickname as well. And he absolutely didn't need to apologize.
Greg Gaines is a guy with "cankles" and that's great for NT types.
He really did look like a Hungry Hippo swallowing up that ball on the fumble. It was an apt description.
If he'd be willing to shift to accept a position coach role, he'd probable be able to land a job in the NFL. College for sure. There are always programs that are looking for a "name" coach. I doubt he'd go that route though.Does he get hired anywhere else now? Forget the NFL. College? High school?
People saw the next Montana in Rick Mirer.
I agree that coverage shouldn't have been called. Not playing all the safetys deep was just about as dumb as the Falcons watching the Cowboys recover the on sides kick.
Williams may not be having his best year, but he is head and shoulders better as a coach than Gase. If anyone deserves to be fired after that mess its him
3 man rush, leave everyone deep. You want Carr to complete one in the middle of the field.I agree that coverage shouldn't have been called.
But when you see the play before, you can understand his thinking. Their prevent D gave up a wide open WR that Carr overthrew by 10 yards, but he was WIDE OPEN in the end zone. Williams must know these newbies were prone to mixing up the coverage, so just have them keep the WRs in front of them while the entire D makes it impossible for Carr to get a throw off.
Unfortunately Carr somehow had a ton of time to throw, and DB somehow BITES on a short route with no safety. There's only so much you can do as a coach. This was the Jets being the Jets.
All that said, Williams is a dickwad.
...I truly felt for a moment that the Jets intentionally gave up the TD as to not lose the #1 draft pick
Great points. And so Williams made a bad call. I've seen McVay make bad play calls too. Williams took a high risk gamble and lost. It happens. I don't see how Jets management can fire Williams and keep Gase.I agree that coverage shouldn't have been called.
