His first season at Tampa he was 72/138 (52%) 935 yards, 3td 8int and a 57 passer rating in 5 games. If that is a beast then Goff is on his way to the HOFSteve Young was a beast. Not only in the USFL, but also at Tampa

Quick has the talent to succeed in this game. Be a player. A difference maker
I know you spot elite talent in the booty thread
What's funny about this is that Keenum ran a higher percentage of plays from the shot gun than Goff.I agree with some posters that Wentz would have been the better fit. Goff seems to require the shotgun formation which isn't the best for Gurley. But I can tell you one thing. Anyone willing to call themself out and take accountability for their actions on such a crap show of a team gets my support. Jared if you are reading, I fully support you. We all are rooting for you to kick some butt for our beloved Rams. You are a Ram now. Show us what you got, you might not get another shot!
I've watched too much eagles football but fron what I've seen Wentz primarily operated out of the shotgun/pistol formationI agree with some posters that Wentz would have been the better fit. Both were in a lot of ShotgunWhat's funny about this is that Keenum ran a higher percentage of plays from the shot gun than Goff.
Steve Youngs first 5 games starting in Tampa Bay.
52.2% completion 3 TD 8 Int with 21 sacks
His second season he started 14 games?
53.7% comp 8 TD 13 Int sacked 47 times
Lets not forget his memorable game VS the Rams that second year.
8 comp 20 att 83 yards.
You just keep digging yourself in a hole, Young looked terrible his first 19 starts in the NFL. He looked lost and shell shocked from so much pressure and so little help around him. And his USFL stats? A little better but not much. 56.4% comp 16 td and 23 ints averaging 113 ypg. We all get it you don't like Goff and you hate the trade.
Late editHow dare you point out his mistakes, and prove his argument wrong. As far as Goff, in his mind @LACHAMP46 , is concerned that he is a loser, never won anything in college, weak arm, lacks toughness, and is a bum after 7 games with the potential to be less of a bum in the future.
wanted to make sure you get some of this too db...Steve Young has always been a beast...on a bad team...much worse than this Rams group. Expansion team...and took the pounding like a champ. I really hate comparing HOF'ers to current players...because really, there is none. His first season at Tampa he was 72/138 (52%) 935 yards, 3td 8int and a 57 passer rating in 5 games. If that is a beast then Goff is on his way to the HOF
Actually it was a stat Myles Simmons pulled out in a week 15 or 16 video he did that Keenum was in the shotgun more than Goff was and your % is much higher than the number he gave. Both were in a lot of Shotgun
Better than 70% of the time....
The Bucs came into exsistence in 1976....but to me, floundering around like they did, year after year...they were very much an expansion type team...setting records, that will never be broken for losing. They traded him because they were perennially losing franchise. SF wanted him because he showed promise. Also expansion team? Seriously? Young's first game with the Bucs was in their 11th season in the league the expansion moniker had long since fallen off. Ok your logic on why would SF trade him if he was so bad? Why would Tampa trade him if he was so great? Straw man argument.
I watched Arizona I watched every game of Goffs. I don't see a bust as you do. I see a talented and very young QB with a horrible supporting cast.
He throws a great ball that bounces off Brian Quicks hands better than anybody else! It's obvious you don't Goff and don't like the trade and nothing anybody says or does or shows you will change your mind. You've made it clear that after 7 games you can tell a bust from a good QB yet we've proven to you time and time again that 7 games isn't enough to judge a QB based on history. All you do with that info it change your perception of history like making excuses for Tampa Bay that after 10 years of being in existence they're still an expansion team. I'm done with this discussion with you because you have your opinion set in stone and no amount of reality will change it. After 5 years you're the only one who thinks Brian Quick has potential. You're the only one to think after 7 games Goff has none. That's all that needs to be said. The Bucs came into exsistence in 1976....but to me, floundering around like they did, year after year...they were very much an expansion type team...setting records, that will never be broken for losing. I didn't say bust, bust to me is a guy outta the league in 3 years or less. I see an average player or less. May or may not be a starter. And, by this definition, he is clearly an over-valued & over paid ( we gave up WAY too much for an average QB) asset.
I go back to a point I tried to make earlier in the year....Opportunity costs....what could we have, versus what we gave up and got? 3 or 4 pretty good players for one average one...even at QB is fool-hardy...
Everyone kept saying in here that likes Goff that they see talent...it's what started me replying so much. You say you see talent in him, Exactly what does he do that screams talented QB? And by talent, I mean, last 6 years, starting with Sam Bradford, what does Goff do like any of the other first round QB's that says he's as or more, talented?
Tell me what you see again.
Quick has the talent to succeed in this game. Be a player. A difference maker. Goff appears to be JAG. As the #1 overall player picked, you just can't have that and become a successful team/franchise.
After 10 years....Tampa was still, by FAR the worst team in the NFL...They were like the Browns are NOW...Remember, this is the NEW Cleveland Browns, the others are in Baltimore...they haven't had a winning season since the move I believe...they are the epitome of a career expansion team at the moment. No matter how long they've been in existence. All you do with that info it change your perception of history like making excuses for Tampa Bay that after 10 years of being in existence they're still an expansion team...................After 5 years you're the only one who thinks Brian Quick has potential.
My point in all of this, is some of the players display the "talent" to be successful. Whether they reach that level of play is up to them, AND the team they're on. Sorta like Chris Carter...Or Rich Gannon if you prefer.Has the "physical" talent yes ... the IQ the desire the want .. nah ... any other team in the NFL quick would be picking up welfare checks a long time ago
Over drafted under drafted dint mean squat to me I believe if your guy is there you take it reach is a subjective term so in saying that quick is burning a roster space ..fish is gone is gone and hopefully quick is too .. Goff however has at least the next two to three years to improve without a miss mashed scheme and hopefully WR who can catch and (Brian) quit on routesAfter 10 years....Tampa was still, by FAR the worst team in the NFL...They were like the Browns are NOW...Remember, this is the NEW Cleveland Browns, the others are in Baltimore...they haven't had a winning season since the move I believe...they are the epitome of a career expansion team at the moment. As far as Quick

Quick stats in 2016
http://www.espn.com/nfl/team/stats/_/name/la
41 catches for 564 yards with 3 TD's....not great...not terrible...they are what they are. Not defending him. He is, what he is...Another player, OVER DRAFTED BY THIS REGIME....and yes, he does have pro-style talent for his position. Pretty par for the course on this team....Rather, of the receivers, only 1 showed he's significantly better.
Snisher draft philosophy,be all brawn and no brains.. Brian Quick two main flaws — dumb and lazy.
