Do you think if Long chooses the Dolphins the Rams will pursue one of the other FA OT's (Vollmer, Smith, etc) or do you think they will wait for the Draft?

JT tweeted that we started showing interest in Vollmer. I think we are probably also interested in Fluker. The only other starting LT in the draft that we could sniff where we pick is Menelik Watson.

I wonder if Long chooses the Dolphins if the Rams would actually have a chance to persuade Vollmer to leave the Patriots? I would be very happy with either one of them!

Now that Long has apparently completed his meetings & tours who do you think he will pick? I am guessing the Dolphins but I am keeping my fingers crossed that he fools me and chooses the Rams! If he does pick the Dolphins I hope Vollmer is on a plane to St Louis tomorrow (Monday at the latest!)!

I expect he picks the Dolphins. He's given them every chance to sign him, and he's saying they can match the offer, which they will. So I expect he'll stay, his wife can stay in Miami, easier for him. Of course he probably knows deep down he wants a fresh start which is why it's taking him longer, but in the end he'll stick with what his wife says, plus friends he has on the team.

I'm not sure, but he can't be anywhere close to Jake Long. Vollmer has had a couple medical issues, we'd have to check him out pretty thoroughly.

That's how I feel, and I think he wants one. That's why he originally priced himself way above market to the Dolphins, and spent so much time in St Louis. But his wife and friends have been in his ear so I think they've swayed him back to staying at the Dolphins, allowing them to match the Rams offer. They probably did so he'll think it over and pick one. Hopefully tomorrow, probably Miami.

Then we can move on with everything. Right now the front office seems to be in a holding pattern so they don't use the cap space set aside for him up.
