I came in to see some thoughts, but apparently it hasn't been posted yet. We have a deep RB room, but I really liked Schrader's intensity and I thought he could turn into a great special teams guy and add some depth if one of our top 3 go down. I guess it just goes to show that we do (did?) have some nice depth at the position.

Well congrats to him on getting a gig first off. I think his greatest value is his feel in the pass game, particularly screens and swing passes, sitting down in zone, etc, which would have been more meaningful if we had Jimmy running the offense. As it is the Rams clearly can't fit him into their 53, so I wish him all the best since he is going to a team I don't hate. If he'd gone to the Shitters I'd feel differently.

It was posted under the free agent, trade, and other stuff thread. And yes everyone is bummed about it.

I thought we just brought him up to the 53.
Now we have a roster opening for our 53?
I never did figure out who we sent down or ir'd to add Schrader to the 53.

He looked great in the PS. Wish we could've kept him but glad he got a shot at a 53.
That’s a good thought. He’s a good ball player. He deserves and has earned a chance to play. He just won’t get it here.

I have always felt this way about Atwell. I was surprised he WANTED to come back. I think he would be really good on another/the right team.

Dammit! Schrader looked awesome in preseason.

Honestly, to me, I didn't see much from Hunter. Very little wiggle and mediocre vision. I think he could benefit a ton from a full year in the program... I bet Hunter could be much improved a year from now.

I'll be curious to see who emerges as RB 3. Rivers is an established vet with a determined ceiling, while Hunter looks like a raw rookie.

To my eye, Corum looked much improved from last year, so we are still looking good at RB1 and RB 2.

IMO Rivers filled in competently last year. But they've invested in Hunter and they sure as heck wouldn't want to risk losing Hunter by putting him on the practice squad. So I'm guessing Hunter will win the RB3 job by default.

I am not completely fluid with the rule but I believe it is that you can elevate 2 PS players to the game day without adding them to the 53, after which they revert back to the PS. A player can do this up to 3x in the regular season. Upon the 4th elevation they would have to be added to the 53. Something like that, I probably missed something

I think this is really underselling Hunter, reviews out of TC were that he's been excellent including being rewarded with 1st team reps
