The ONE time I'm glad Fisher couldn't help himself.

That is one time where Fisher was the smartest guy in the room. We had a really nice DL, but they took AD anyway.

Perhaps. If they had drafted somebody else at #2, (Mack, say) it might have changed the draft enough so that somebody between #3 and #12 would have drafted AD. Only way to be sure would have been to take AD at #2.

That’s true, but teams thought AD was too small, especially the two teams in front of us. Robinson was a grade A prospect, so someone would have scooped him up before Donald. I agree with the Butterfly effect, normally

I dunno. Mack went at #5, iirc, and Robinson was considered raw, but a freak so it's pretty possible that GRob still went top 12.

Also, the teams who passed on AD did so mostly because of AD and not knowing what to do with him or pressing for need.

It's actually a probably scenario that the Rams could have had Mack and AD, but a) we'd have lost one to FA and 2) more importantly, we'd still be stuck with Fisher AND it's likely the 9ers would have McVay.

And I'm sorry, the idea of McVay with the 9ers makes me sick to my stomach... The idea of us STILL having Fisher AND the 9ers having McVay... I dunno if I could have taken that...

I mean....I can simply say that being one of 32 makes him elite. But I’m sure that’s not your idea of elite. It’s a valid debate I suppose, but just like it’s unfair to claim his status after a 500 yard game, it’s just as unfair to deflate it all on the heels of an off game.
