And to say that he's "arrived".

Watching him yesterday has removed any possibility of doubt, it is no longer possible to make a case that he isn't elite. It can't be done. Yesterday in a dogfight with the defense letting the team down and handing points to the opponent because of drive extending penalties he kept his cool under mounting pressure and just went to work.

He's risen to the occasion every single game and without his play the Rams lose the Vikings game, split with SEA, and probably lose to Green Bay. This team could very well be 5-5 or 6-4 without him playing the way he is. At best maybe a shot at 7-3.

That is what an elite QB does.

Yesterday was another 300 plus yard game, he has 7 this year essentially if we give him the GB game at 295 yards. The thing for me is yesterday he did it without any long bombs, he did it in nice size chunks, which is good because it adds confidence that 3rd and long plays aren't daunting. They know they can pick up a 3rd and 12.

His YPA is eye popping. 9.44 per attempt is amazing. At the end of the season he will be on top there, Fitzpatrick is now but he will come back to Earth.

He's on pace to hit 5,000 yards and 35 TD's and is currently 2nd in total yards. Now think about this..........he is 9th in pass attempts so it's not like he's just throwing more than everyone.

Adding to the prolific production are the intangibles. The things that make people say "yeah he has the it factor". His footwork, pocket awareness, accuracy (68.4%), poise under pressure are all flat out fantastic. Plus he takes care of the ball. And by the way, he has 3rd fourth quarter comeback in the 10 games so far and 3 game winning drives.

There's no9 more "well let's see".

We see.

Good topic Les.

His poise is something else.

His command of the offense and huddle is obvious... And... he’s not peaked yet.

As much as I'd love to say yes as a Rams fan and mostly as a football fan I'm afraid elite stars comes from some comeback two min drill wins in the crunch a playoff win or two not necessarily a Super Bowl but you at least have got to show it when it counts first reg season crunch time he needs one of those and obviously a playoff win hopefully many more than that but that starts to have him rise above and then the confidence becomes even better and he himself will believe he has it totally under control its like a symbiotic relationship bit different lol skills feed of success/confidence and vice versa. Lol

I think we're witnessing that final stretch of an elite QB's development right now. Personally I am not going to crown him at this point. But I do think it's coming real soon, like this year's playoffs.

Goff has had far more than just a couple of good games. Hes playing at a high level week to week.
I was watching the game yesterday and I kept thinking that we are blessed to have him as our QB.
That QB carousel we played for nearly 13 years is over and behind us. We dont just have a decent, stable QB. We have a great one

Nope. A bit early to name him elite.

Let’s wait until the appropriate time instead of premature crowning that’s happened with Colin Capernick, Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Dak Prescott, RG3, did I forget anybody the band wagon was all full on? Matt Statford?

Stats don’t mean shit with being a leader, clutch in the most extreme circumstances constantly, and a leader of men.

How sweet it is to watch Goff!

The last decade of Rams QB's gave me "QB PTSD". Goff's superior QB play has healed my QB-PTSD!

I cant help but think that we are witnessing the beginning of a Brady / Billicheat type of scenario.
These 2 could be together for a very long time.

Don't be afraid to take the leap Corbin.
Without elite QB play from Goff this year, we have a few more losses than the 1 we currently have.

Hard to say. He just hasn't been in the situations that are sink/swim for the Elite moniker. It's conjecture at this point on both sides of the argument.

I would go out on a limb where Goff played ‘OK’ Gurley saved our asses.

Goff still misses throws pretty often that he is more than capable to make on a consistent basis for him to be elite.

Rodgers and Brady do this to but it’s at a minimum generally which helps their teams always stay in it.

Love me some Jared, always have but you can’t start getting the rose colored glasses on for somebody you like as a fan.

Honestly I’m thinking in another 1-3 years at the most he enters this category.

I think that’s why you grade on a curve.

How’s he doing for 2.5yrs, 1.5yrs with a real team around him?

On that curve; hard to poke holes where he’s at, IMO.

Goff is having a very good year. He had a good year last year. Let's see how he finishes this year. He certainly has moved up the QB rankings.

So he’s an emerging GOAT? Well said, Corbin!

Lol It takes a while for me to to fall in love bro! You’d be good to BS with over a beer or 5. :rolllaugh:

Honestly I considered Goff’s rookie year a ‘redshirt’ or non year. Fisher crippled him on purpose IMO to get longer with the team. Thank goodness that didn’t happen. I’ll judge last year as his first year and this year but I wouldn’t call him elite.

Last week for instance I es mad at Goff thinking he had a bad game with his throws being off or missing some because I expect so much from him because he has the capibility to be very special. Looked at stats after the game and he had an amazing game stat wise! Lol
I think he’d even say he had an OK game because of some of the throws he made in times of need.

Going to be getting a Goff jersey in the throwback colors very soon to so if I didn’t think much of him I would never consider as such! Lol Gurley and Fonald to follow very soon after to.

I'd like to see him flip the scoreboard a few times in our favor during the final minutes in the 4th quarter of any game; he's certainly close, if not, a hair of being elite imo.
