With regards to State Income taxes, it is possible for a Rams player to end up paying 9 State Income Taxes....They could pay 8 games of taxes to Missouri and up to 8 different State Income Taxes depending on how the schedule falls during a given year. It is a big chunk of change considering they are getting nailed at usually the highest tax rate.

From prosportstax.com

State, City & Local Income Taxes: NFL players typically have income taxes withheld at the federal,
state, city and local level. A player may often be required to file in as many as nine states as well as at the
federal level. The amounts withheld for state, city and local taxes are generally deductible.

Ah, that's interesting, wonder why they do it like that, seems far more complicated than it needs to be. Is there a benefit to doing it that way?

I don't have the list in front of me, but there are some states Like Florida that have No state income tax! Not sure how-many but there are several!

I think he gets another year after this even if he has another bad year. Kroenke hired him partly because of the way he handled the Oilers move to Tennessee. After the move all bets are off.
That is very interesting.

I said it a couple weeks ago, I don't believe a single word out of his mouth. He also may not want to do it but have to do it anyway. It's Kroenke's team.

that's fine - given that it was before he signed with a team and it was us vs dolphins, i'll believe him. Don't think he has any reason to lie - moving a team isn't an enjoyable experience. Can only imagine what a coaching staff goes through

State with no income tax that have NFL teams are Florida, Texas and Washington State. For an example if Suh had stayed in Detroit, Michigan has a 4.35% tax and Detroit has a 1.2% tax for a total of 5.45%. Out of his $114.375M he would have made $6.23M less than in Miami. Great reason to move!

Just for ease I didn't take into account that when he plays on the road he pays tax in the state that the team plays. So he will most likely pay state tax in the 8 road game every year.

I don't know if it's always been posted but I read in a report by Jim Thomas (I don't know how to post links) that Wisniewski visited Tampa Bay, left without a contract and now has a visit planned with Seattle. If true, the Seahawks may push hard to sign him especially after trading away there center, Max Unger, to New Orleans for Graham. I would really like a chance to sign him, but if he is offered a bunch of money and a chance to start on a Super Bowl contender, might be awfully hard to pass up...

Welcome realign just FYI things in blue are kidding, joking , just havin' fun K?

Maybe his asking price is too high? Maybe when the Rams "touched base" with him they decided he wasn't worth the asking price?

Is he really that good, or are we (fans) just that desperate for a popular name OL signing? Just asking...
He's not the best C but he's the best available and it's a huge risk thinking you can find one capable of starting in the draft.

The so-called-elite guys are already gone.

To me, he's young, reliable and has upside. And, it's an important position!

On the flip side, Blalock, who seems to be wanted by a lot of fans is 31 and on the downside of his career.

Me? I would really love it if they could land this KID. ;)

Not sure Seattle has the cap space... Anyone know the Hawks cap numbers?

Wisneiwski is a definite upgrade from Wells.

I would like to think that the Rams have pretty much evaluated all of the rookie Centers and Guards and have an idea what will be available to them in the draft. They were right on with the Eval of Martin. So, maybe they set their price on Wiz and don't want to budge because they know they can probably get a good Center in the draft.

BUT, then I remember how they botched the ORG spot last season and they had to rely on an over the hill Guard all season. I know that the plan was for the lineup to be Barksdale, Saffold, Wells, Robinson, Long, but Joseph was a horrible backup plan and he was supposedly the best thing they had in the wings? Really? This team seriously needs to upgrade its backup OLine options. I know Martz says it is the toughest position to fill but other teams usually have at least one good Oliner on standby.
