I feel like Henny Youngman. "Take my wife,,,, PLEASE!" Shula is good some weeks, and confusing others.

My guess is if Lake hadn't gotten hurt Shula would be tops on most teams lists once the interviews got going.

The MVP of our defense got hurt, things feel apart then. Run defense took a ding and pass rush no longer had the benefit of coverage sacks to allow them to truly dominate.

They cant interview him because they are in the playoffs
Only teams on bye week can interview

Ah, there we go. But can a team file an interview request and delay the interview until the bye week? Which obviously for the Rams would have to be the Super Bowl bye week.

Smith and Kingsbury will be lucky to get interviews this year. People not as high on Saleh as you think. Minter who's not even on your list is probably the star candidate in a less than stellar class.

Minter
Shula (unless he shits bed in playoffs)
Flores

are the S-tier that teams are talking about and Stefanski and Kubiak will have to be right fit interviews and then everyone after that is even more dart throws right fit, who knows candidates.
My list was of previous HCs.. that’s why Minter isn’t on there.

There are times the offense makes it tougher on the defense than it needs to..... I can count on both hands where the offense had multiple opportunities to close out games and the offense went in 3-and-out mode and took very little time off the clock.

Our defense is designed to bend but don't break and allow field goals. Most of our DB's would not be starting on most NFL Teams.

If you were a DC, other than Lake which current Ram DB would be a sure lock starter for your team?
Those are two separate statements you made and this question is ludicrous on it's face - like what am I comparing it to - what players and what team? Do you know how many starting DBs there are in this league. Both our safeties are top half of the league guys alone, sheesh. Our CBs aren't great but they're on par if not better than what the Commodes, Bengals, Cowboys, Cardinals, Steelers, Bears, Ravens, Dolphins and 49ers have.

I don't mind the criticism of our CBs (safeties is another thing) but at least put a modicum of effort into it. Love that you're a fan but at least be an interested fan.

Well if you're gaging my interest as a fan on whether I agree with you .... well I don't agree. And everything you put out there isn't always going to be met with 100% approval... so get over yourself.

I asked you a simple question.... which would only take a "modicum of effort" to answer.

If I were to answer my own question.... the answer would be none of them.

If Shula does get a head coaching job, I could definitely see McVay either promoting Pleasant, or bringing-back Morris ... but ... I would be interested in Jonathan Gannon.

I don't think Shula will get a call this season, unless the Rams win the Super bowl. In some good news, Robert Saleh is getting interest and is getting interest from the Cardinals.

Yeah, he might be considered for one of the worst jobs, like Arizona, but he would hopefully be smart enough to know not to take a job that's a bad situation.

Plus, Arizona probably goes offense since Gannon didn't work out and he was another young DC without a long track record just like Shula.

Not sure, Saleh took a gig with the jets. But I believe he wasn't given a fair shot since they had Aaron Rodgers and was out for the season after the jet's first game in Saleh's first season.

Hate the whiners but that guy did an amazing job with the whiner's depleted defense.

The question now is Shula really interested in taking a HC gig if offered? Perhaps he may be another Gannon, or he may be not. He should get about 2 seasons to prove it though.

He dialed shit up in the playoffs though. I wonder what role McVay takes in the defense and how aggressive it plays. With this offense, defense should be taking chances all day long.
It was reported after McVay fired Wade that he did that to take a more active role in the defense. He had his fingers involved when Staley was the DC.

And since Wade, they've been playing a soft style. It's a McVay thing, not a DC thing. A Bowles would never work here.

Shula might be able to wait for a good gig. For example, you're almost doomed if you have bad ownership. (i.e. Browns, Raiders, Jets)

One thing you can't account for though is he will get paid. Even an unproven guy like him will get $3M or 4M? I think that is the min a first tine HC normally makes. Might be tough to pass that up. He probably makes a lot less than that right now. Maybe $700K - $1M?

If the Browns called up Shula you think he would take it? They aren’t a bad team. Shula could build his D literally just behind Myles Garrett then you just let everything fall together. Hell Gannon can go back home to Cleveland and be a DC.

Yeah if it's money or if you just want the experience. But Shula is young and could benefit from a few more years under McVay, although McVay's "downline" of coaches is getting huge and many are successful so there's that I guess.
