Teams that don't give up a lot of points win championships. But what do I know. You know why the Patriots have 5 rings in 20 years? 18.8 ppg on defense, over 20 years.
They have 5 rings because the other team always does some dumb shit to give away games to them. I don't know if it's the media putting that team on a pedestal and teams trying too hard to beat them, but yeah. I mean why are all their Super Bowl wins so close?

Funny, had the Rams lost to the Niners that last game, they would be playing this week instead of the Bears. But Let's not talk about that.
Did you not watch the game, the Rams had the game wrapped up before halftime. And while we are fantasizing here, if the vikings had won a few more games they would still be playing.

.421. That's the percentage of times the Patriots have been to the Super Bowl since 2000. That's better than some teams winnings percentages over the same period. (Rams are .444 in that period) Whether you win by 1 or 14 it doesn't matter. Remember the Niner's run from 1981-1998? 5 Super Bowls. Who gets the credit? Montana, Young, Rice. Defense over that time period. 16.8 ppg. See, it's a lot easier to win when you only have to score 3 TD's to do it. Average offenses ppg for Pats during their run 27.3. For the Niners it was 26.4.

Actually no, I was watching my Vikings play themselves out of the playoffs.

This isn't about the Vikings. This is about the Bears and the Rams. Both the Bears and the Rams don't have stellar road wins. Period. And anyone who thinks so is fooling themselves. Teams that win the Super Bowl beat good team's on the Road. Period. I knew when my Vikings lost to the Rams that they probably wouldn't make it to the Super Bowl. And losing to the Bears on the road reinforced that. Had my team made it to the playoffs, most likely they would be one and done. You play who you play where the NFL says. The Vikings had all their "tough" games on the Road this year. Rams, Eagles, Bears, Patriots, Seahawks. Only "tough" game not in the division at home was the Saints. Just the way it is.

I am not impressed with the Rams Defense. All those "stars" and they can't stop people from scoring when they have too. Fortunately they were able to score points on offense during the season to make up for it. But today, every team is 0-0. It's a new season. There are 8 teams not in the playoffs that have a better ppg given up than that Rams. There are 11 teams in the playoffs that did better than the Rams. The Rams have a tough road to hoe. I'm not saying they can't, but it's not likely.

Raptorman, you usually have some good thoughts to provide, so if you're going to offer this sort of dumbassery, please take a break from the Rams forum.

So, your saying the Rams road win were stellar?

I'm saying the Rams only have to play on the road if both them and NO make it to the NFCCG, so their road record isn't important. Then, I'll say that the Rams going 6-2 on the road and beating the Seahawks in their house is pretty damn stellar. Now, why are we discussing road games when the Rams aren't going on the road next week? As I said, let's stop with the dumbassery.

The Atlanta game was lost on two things IMO...

1. When AD couldn't get that sack for a safety due to a timely crackdown block by the TE. That would have put us in control I think and been a different game thereafter.

2. When Brock went out and Atlanta started running the ball and we couldn't stop it.

Want to prevent the Atlanta game? Stuff the run.
Don't forget Coopers fumbles.
The Rams runs D has gotten worse this year and that will likely be the key to the game.

That
Well this year for starters, at least Pharaoh Cooper can't spot them 10-14 points off the bat.
That reminded me of Azhakim when we played the Saints, when the Saints were still in the NFC west and he fumbled on a kick return.
I think that was a playoff game too
