Anyone watching the Rams, who has watched them since day one of McVay, can clearly see how stale this offensive system has become. He has either chosen not to adapt, or is unable too. Good teams find ways to win with marginal talent at certain positions, and with injuries.

He will not have an endless leash - no one ever does.
Since day 1?
This is utter nonsense. 13 straight, non competitive losing seasons before McVay, and outside of the 5 year blip of the GSOT, they had the most losses in the 90's
He's as irreplaceable as there is

Just curious. If you were a Steelers' fan, would you be calling for Mike Tomlin to be fired?

Again, the reading comprehension seems a bit poor here. Didn't say anything about the seasons before McVay, only the seasons with McVay. If you can't see that the NFL has figured out his scheme, you are blind as a fucking bat.

Are you absolutely sure you want to go back to the days of Loserhan and Shitnuolo? That's what you're risking by firing McVay for a "stale system". Casting blame on a loss is fine, but this is just crazy talk.

McVay is the best head coach we've ever had, given that he's had the most wins of any Rams HC, and has two Super Bowl appearances - winning one, which we hadn't done since the turn of the century. He's not even forty. He clearly knows how to innovate, given the immense amount of talent coming from his offenses and defenses that have become head coaches and coordinators elsewhere. He's not averse to "evolving and adapting" as you say, given that he's doing more 12 personnel than ever before this year.

You really want to get rid of him for what amounts to a total gamble? One that could set us back another two decades?

I never said I want to get rid of him. I do have confidence in the front office to make the right choices.

McVay needs some new influences around him on the coaching staff. Would love to see him add a couple lifers that could have some positive influence on what he does.

I honestly think he is burnt the fuck out.

McVay was schooling Fangio last night in the first half ... but Fangio, has seen it all. McVay needs a Fangio.

What is this then?

One can appreciate him, but also realize it may be time to move on eventually.

Considering the amount of sheer turmoil in coaching staffs - remember that Daboll was once considered a hot ticket for the Giants, and now he's very much at risk of losing his job - and considering how he's navigated losing so many talented coaches, I think McVay's earned the right to stay however long he wants.

If you feel like he should be gone, say it. Don't talk out of both sides of your mouth.

What I am saying is - if McVay doesn't adapt and reinvent what he's trying to do, eventually, they will move on.

QB1 is not going to be here forever, and I'm not really sure what a McVay/QB grooming situation looks like, given how things with Goff unfolded.

He didn't pick Goff, though. That was Fisher's choice - and I'll admit, he made the right one over Wentz. Goff turned himself into a great quarterback after being dealt to Detroit, but I highly doubt it would've happened, had Fisher been kept on.

If we have a bad year next year, but show progress, we should consider drafting a young quarterback in the first round or searching for a quarterback, but I trust McVay in what he wants to do. He's earned that right.

I don't see McVay leaving and he sure is hell isn't get fired. This is a rebuild and I am confident the Rams will be back on top sooner than later.

I don't think we will have a bad year next year. I don't think we are having a bad year this year. But I do think next year will still be messy, like this year is.

There isn't much margin for error right now.

Not really sure what this has to do with the Eagles - given I said nothing about them.
It’s simply connecting the disgruntled post with the most recent performance.

The Rams roster is pretty thin, overall.. and they have GLARING issues at backup tackle.

The Bears loss is the only example I can see this season of the Rams losing to a less talented roster.

And… you wonder why I bring up the Eagles talent in another post?

Clown show posting, right here.

I agree that McVay is the best Rams head coach ever and that it's ridiculous to suggest moving on from him.

But IMO the Rams wouldn't go back to the days of Linehan and Spaguolo if McVay left. Since Kroenke took over in 2010, he's put together a very sound front office of Demoff, Snead, and Pastoors. These are the guys that found McVay.

I'm pretty sure they could find another good, young HC. He may not be a future HOF'er but it would be better than the Linehan days. It's kind of like the same scout team that found Donald also found Turner, Young, Fiske, and Verse. The leadership structure of the organization is very good.

Obviously, though, I'd still like to keep my future HOF head coach. That doesn't mean it's blasphemy to suggest that there are ways he needs to improve.

Corum hasn't really busted any long runs either. Probably not until then.

People are burying their head in the sand a bit if they think the fumbles cannot be Kyren's undoing.

running backs with fumble problems seem to have trouble getting past it and it eventually puts them on the sideline.

Even good teams with good structures can unearth bad coaches. The Rams are not immune to it; we're lucky to have gotten Snead when Kroenke took over, since Fisher wanted a rookie GM, and we could've easily gotten a retread. Most of us - including me - thought Spagnuolo would be the answer.

Even the best coordinators can be horrible head coaches, and there are no guarantees.

I'm not suggesting that he's perfect, that he doesn't need to find ways to improve himself, but we've dealt with two out of three years with bad injuries. Our starting offensive line from the preseason has played all of one game (the Miami game) together, and it's clear that quite a few of our players (Avila, J-Jax) are rusty after coming back. In 2022, AD, Stafford, and Kupp were put on IR before the half-way point.

He's been dealt with a bad hand, and to be at the point where we're at, within striking distance for the division, is a testament to his talent, and the what the coaches have had to deal with. We have obvious weaknesses in the secondary, offensive line, wide receivers, and tight ends, and I trust McSnead to deal with it.

I just feel that saying that they are going to be gone is an overstatement. We had a bad loss here. Whether we bounce back or not remains to be seen, but we have a shot at the division, what looks like an outstanding two rookie classes, and we're dealing with a plethora of injuries to important pieces.

Let's just not throw the baby (the coaches, the players who had a bad game) out with the bathwater (the players who are obviously going to be replaced after this year, but we can't at the moment).

Oh, I'm definitely in agreement with you on not throwing out the baby with the bathwater. I'm just cautioning against wildly swinging to the overly dramatic other side of the pendulum in suggesting that the Rams would return to the days of horrible HC after horrible HC.

Those days were when they were the worst run organization in the league. And they're over even without McVay. Sure, there are no guarantees of finding another great HC just as there are no guarantees a 1st round pick is going to be a success. But, what is certain is that teams that are really good at drafting have better odds of hitting on that 1st than teams that are poorly run.

My point is, the Rams are no longer a poorly run team...in any area. Thus, their chances of hitting on another great coach are much better than the odds of those early 2000 teams that you're recalling. Basically, please don't bring up those years. It's not relevant anymore.
