If the Jets are prepared to cut him, it probably wouldn't cost much to trade for him. We'd just have to open up cap room. He averaged 82 catches for 1085 yards and 10 TDs over the previous four seasons before his injuries last year.
IDK, does he really add more than Kupp, Spruce or Woods at this point in his career?
Although maybe in this offense he can get back to his former numbers.
I'm with you. If he has a bounce back year, I'm sure a lot of teams will be kicking their selves for passing on a solid possession receiver with a knack for finding the end zone. I'm hopeful we have some gems on the roster in these last two drafts.Part of me says yes he'd be a nice veteran possesion WR to help our offense and young QB out. But then most of me says no I want to see what our young WR corp can do and most importantly I don't want to move around or restructure any of the contracts we'd have to in order to free cap space for him.
I'd venture to say yes.
Decker ain't the guy he used to be. Spruce is a great fit for this offense. So I think I'd stay the course with the young guns and see how they grow.
Decker had 1027 yards and 12 TDs for the Jets in 2015. He missed almost all of 2016 with injuries after having 194 yards and 2 TDs in 3 healthy games. I'm not sure how one would determine he isn't the guy he used to be. That might prove to be true, but it's far from certain at this point.
