Ummmm, noooo, once again you’re wrong. The Rams can literally extend McDuffie and Stafford, cut Darious Williams and restructure Adams and Jackson and have about 65M in cap space to play with lol…
I was just messing with ya lol. I don't know how to use the blue font.

Big IF ... 13 games played the past two seasons ... 21 games missed
Keep in mind that 2024 was an outlier. He missed the entire first part of the season recovering from the torn ACL he got from that POS Darby the season prior. Higbee didn't even suit up for his first game until December 22.

I was reluctant to re-sign Higbee also until I saw him go nuts against the Cards a couple months ago, in January. 5 catches for 91 yards and a TD. He's still got some gas left.

To me this signing is smart for both sides.
Higbee can continue a ring of honor career with the Rams and pursue another ring.
For the Rams he can help the young players as a good team guy....a bit of a player-coach for young players like Ferguson and provide a good blocker and absolutely great depth.
Pretty cheap deal.....I like it.
Love me some Higs.

I wonder how much of this is also not that we need 4 tight ends but that we need two Ys and two Fs. Allen can't really play in line. They say Fergy can but I've always been a little doubtful that that's his best usage or that he'll ultimately be able to handle the blocking there.

Parkinson is a Y through and through and Higs is a Y.

Yes we want to play three tight end sets or some 12 personnel but you can't just line up these guys anywhere and expect them to have the same success. Fergy or Allen aren't gonna align on the line and have as much success run blocking there from either 13 or 12 personnel.

I bet we did this partly cause we need another Y.

You could argue that we could get a Y in the draft but I'd argue that the transition to the pros at Y is harder and longer than it is at F where you can fudge some things and focus the player on fewer assignments.

He will go all out to win a Super Bowl in So-fi and has plenty left in the tank. He’s our best ever TE so it puzzles me why some dont like us resigning such a great Ram player on close to vet minimum? I am looking forward to watching him for another season. There are few better all round TEs in the league especially who play in-line

The logic is probably, if you want to run 3 TE sets, you need to be 4 deep, to account for injuries at any given time. Higbee, Ferguson, Parkinson, and Allen allow us to do that. They probably felt Higbee at 4M per year (or however the money is structured) was a fair price. Which it is for what he brings. Just a bit surprising they contributed that much money to the TE room given what Parkinson is already making. They must really like the versatility of being able to run that scheme when they think it matches up well. I like the mix of 2 vets with 2 younger TEs. This team is Super Bowl ready. They probably didn't want 3 younger players at the position if they got their 4th TE via the draft. Particularly as younger TEs often take time to develop. Any other free agent TE worth pursuing would cost this much or more. And not be proven to work in this system.

Wondering what will happen with Redman ? Does Nicky V comeback?

HigBEAST is back. What a FREAKING LEADER!!

You said it BEST !! EVER !!He was a Ram before both Allen & Woods(Trees).

True Rams HOF player. He still has a lot in the tank. His injuries over the years & will to get back healthy only makes him stronger.

This will be a thing that Mcvay & HIG’s will go down in NFL History with a next GEN O

Fergs was the best blocking TE we had last year.

If I had the strength, patience, and pettiness, I would look up what some of our posters said about Higs being shot, to contrast their views with what McVay and the organization think! :) He loves us and as much as we love him and took a team friendly deal to try and help us win a SB at So-Fi

LEGEND!

  • Total Cap: $301.2 million per club. So my quick math 1.32802125%, The other TEs total $13,382,185. The Rams are getting cap value at the TE position. Higs isn't costing much, relatively speaking. He is a team leader too. Glad to have him back.
