1% or fewer players in the league catch that ball.

That was a LONG way from right in the hands.

He just lost it a bit when he repositioned. Happens, it was a tough catch how it came down over the shoulder but some of that is on the receiver.

What I love is Stafford putting it on him. Spreading it around and getting him and Blanton involved. Keep it up 9.

i hope higbee is ready to go by bowl time. i was thinking with the way blanton has been playing if mcvay would do it he could use 12 personal more often. can you imagine a line up of blanton, higbee, cup, obj and acers coming out of the back field. i think that would be a scary line up plus it might help in the run game. not saying to switch to that line up all the time but would be a good change of pace imo.

Make sure he works on catching the ball or it doesn't matter how much he weighs.

I don't mean to be hard on him - love Benny Skow, especially as a seventh round pick. But wow that game may have been less stressful if he'd caught that pass in the end zone that hit him right in the hands.
Benny has shit unpredictable hands. Much worse than Kupp and just a little worse than Jefferson. He might wear Kupp's old number and is white...but he ain't even close to Kupp.

So true!

JN's special talent is pass blocking on those quick 43 DE's and 34 D OLB'ers as the starting in line LT....Noteboom is not going to help with the TE Higbee injury problem. Bobby Evans is far worse than Noteboom.

McVay/Carberry would be better to utilize OL'er Coleman Shelton as the 6th OL'er or finally try out a two-back combination plays.

CS is quick, agile & mobile to be on target with his run blocking which is his special talent! I might even put him in as FULLBACK.
Or use Noteboom in a max protection look

I have to imagine that Skow also didn't really think the ball was going to come his way on that play and was caught off guard when Stafford actually threw it

Looked like the route that Kupp ran against Tampa where you never get the ball. And looked like Skowronek maybe was looking for it to the other side, to the extent he thought it might get there.

But imo when it hits you in the hands you have to catch it. It would have been a game changing play.

Tyler Higbee has been an important player for the Los Angeles Rams all season, playing nearly every snap on offense as the team’s starting tight end. That’s why his knee injury in the NFC Championship Game was so concerning, leaving Kendall Blanton as the only healthy tight end.

Higbee missed most of the game after exiting in the first half but fortunately, he appears to be OK. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Higbee is believed to have avoided significant damage to his knee. His status for Super Bowl LVI is still up in the air, though.

#Rams TE Tyler Higbee, ruled out yesterday with a knee injury, appears to have avoided any significant damage, source said. However, his availability for the Super Bowl will be up in the air and decided over the next two weeks.

In the regular season, Higbee caught 61 passes for 560 yards and five touchdowns. He never had more than 69 yards in a game, but he was good for at least 40 yards and a handful of catches each week.

The Rams hope to have him in the Super Bowl against the Bengals, giving them some much-needed depth at tight end with Blanton being the only other viable option.

Awesome! I made the Aaron Jones comparison earlier. Sometimes knee injuries look awful, even needing a player to be carted off, but serious damage is avoided. SImilarly, sometimes they walk off on their own power and find out later it's a torn ACL. You never know until you get the MRI results back. Pray he avoided serious damage and 2 weeks might well be enough. It's the Super Bowl. Players will play through damn near anything. This isn't your regular game. If Higbee can suit up, he will. Let's hope it's just a minor sprain like the kind Jones suffered. :fistbump1:

EDIT - CJ Uzomah was on crutches yesterday with a knee injury but I see now he just as a sprained MCL. It seems like he and Higbee might be in the same boat - avoiding serious knee injury, with a race against the clock to try and heal up enough to be effective. No idea who the Bengals TE2 is. But Uzomah is a major weapon. If he cannot go, it will be a big plus for the Rams.

When he played the 6'th Olineman in that week 18 game against S.F., he only had 10 snaps and wasn't all that effective.
Noteboom was inactive on Sunday. He suffered a chest injury on the Kupp game winning catch at Tampa

Week 18 was the final game of the regular season, which was also against S.F., not yesterday's Championship game.

If he makes that catch, the same people who are criticizing him would likely be saying how he made a catch that few WR could make.
Glad it didn’t come back to bite us.
Would have loved to have seen him make that catch, he made several amazing grabs at ND. But for sure there is a huge difference between getting 2 hands on it and hitting him in the hands

Not an easy catch but more due to B Skow heading toward the center of the end zone when staff let it go and the ball was a couple feet toward the left sideline.
He was fighting his body control. You can see him trying to adjust at the 4yard line he had just drifted too much toward the center of the end zone.
It happens no biggie we won

damn you

hit the play button like 6 times

He wouldn’t be worth his salt if he didn’t think that.

Still doesn’t make it hitting him in the hands. He made a good attempt just to get a finger on it. That old bullshit about catching everything you touch is nonsense.
But Skow needs to locate the ball and get himself into better position. He made it more awkward than it could have been.
