Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel was back in Texas for the AT&T Byron Nelson Classic on Saturday, and something happened. That's about all anyone can agree on.

First, let's go to Manziel's agent, per Cleveland.com. Erik Burkhardt said Manziel was harassed by a fellow fan in the gallery, but handled the disturbance without major problems.

Seems harmless enough, but here's another angle. A fan, Chase Fritz of Plano, Texas, told Yahoo Sports that he spotted Manziel yelling at someone and, later, throwing a water bottle at the fan. Manziel missed, and the other fan responded, "Hey, nice throw, Johnny." Manziel, according to Fritz, became "super pissed," "took off his hat," and began walking toward the other man.

At that point, security officials in the area rounded up everyone, including Fritz and his father. Someone in Manziel's entourage told Fritz not to take a picture, but he did so anyway. Here's Fritz's photo from another account:

TMZ reports that Manziel told police the other man (referred to as a "friend") had been harassing him for an autograph, and that Manziel lost his temper. After some discussion with security officials, everyone dispersed with no arrests. No harm, no penalty flag.

How you view the incident depends on how you view Manziel in general. A case of a problematic player losing control again, or a case of a fan getting rude? Either way, the Browns can't be happy Manziel continues to make news away from the field.

Unfortunately Manziel has made himself a target for harassers. Still, I don't care for fans who do that.

This is just a technicality, but the fan in question probably isn't that much of a "fan" of Manziel. ;)

Maybe the fan was out of line, maybe not. But things like this are happening with Manziel quite a bit these days. Why don't we hear these things from bigger stars like Rogers and Brees? Manziel is immature. He doesn't have the maturity to handle situations in the right manner. On top of all that, he ain't a very good quarterback.

We may never know what truly happened, the real meat of this is that Manziel has made himself susceptible to this in the first place to the point where even if the fan was getting rowdy you can't trust his word on the matter since he's so suspect to begin with. When you hear people harassing guys like Schaub you know these guys don't fabricate stories to cover their idiot tracks so you know that it's legit, but with Manziel there's always that reasonable doubt he may have instigated the situation and once again they're covering his ass because he played good in college.

This is the world Manziel made for himself and he has to live with it until he gets serious about changing it.

Take 3 seconds to sign the autograph and this never happens. Bad decision from a guy with a history of them.

Even if you don't want to sign - don't want to encourage a line of people, whatever - you politely say that you're there with friends or family. If they push it, get security involved. You don't throw something - that is not going to end well for Manziel, and he has to learn that. As it is, what if he had actually injured the guy slightly with the water bottle? What if he missed and hurt somebody else? Suddenly it's a legal situation, with him in the wrong.

Someone needs to keep reminding him, his career in the NFL is on the line THIS year! If he doesn't improve his Game, and his Image THIS year it's OVER!!

As soon as I heard he threw a water bottle at someone I knew nobody got hit anyway.

I think you are probably right on the money here Dave.

If he doesn't play at least average and stay out of trouble the Browns are going to cut him and I don't think anyone will touch him. Well maybe Chip Kelly will cut Tebow to make a roster spot for Johnny Tricycle.

That would just be awesome to see Bradford, Tebow, and Manziel on the same team battling it out. Not only for the sake of seeing the guy on YouTube going crazy over it, but just for the fact that I could watch a train wreck and it not be the Rams who were a part of it. If that somehow happened then they would have to be on hard knocks.

And I would even guess that if he was a better QB, he would care less about the yahoos in the fan world flicking him shit. He's a pissy little fool dealing with other pissy little fools. Bad combination unless you're looking for a train wreck.
